How do I make coffee?

I flatly refuse to believe that this is a genuine thread. Besides, everyone knows filter or cafetiere is far, far superior to instant.

Ah, you must have the wrong sort of household, Invg. Chuck out the instant coffee that can often not smell so different from gravy powder and get a cafetiere and some ground Fair Trade coffee. You'll never wnat instant again!

Hi,

Best bet for an all nighter is to dispense with the coffee/hot water/cup thing, its soooo old fashioned after all !

My advice for a sleep free night:

1. Instant coffee (pref 500g jar).
2. Take off lid.
3. Lick index finger.
4. Dip in coffee (your trying to achieve an 'even coating' here).
5. Insert index finger in mouth and suck coffee granules off your finger.
6. Repeat until sleepiness subsides.

For that added kick try substituting your finger with a nicorette patch but this tends to be for the more advanced user

I honestly do despair at times :D

Enjoy !

Dave.

1. Get a cup
2. Boil the kettle
3. Add however much sugar you want and a teaspoon of instant coffee
4. Add boiling water just above the half-way mark
5. Add milk
6. Stir
7. Enjoy

wrong oh so wrong, you just burnt your coffee and have polluted its black richness.

1. boil some water in a kettle
2. Get a cup, spoon and a jar of instant coffee(preferable with some still in it)
3. add 2-3 heaped spoon fulls of coffee to the cup.
4. after kettle has boiled wait 1min
5. pour water from the kettle into cup.

I would suggest one of these as an alternative:

But if you don't even know how to make instant coffee, I dont fancy your chances at getting into the can I'm afraid.

Did a quick google and it could only find the complicated proper ways of doing it.

I have to do an all-nighter for a second night in a row for coursework and its starting to take the strain as i havent been to bed now....I am not really a coffee person and have never made it before so i am hoping it will keep me sharp.

So I have a jar with "Nescafe Original" on it. I take it i just put some in (loose beans) and put hot water and milk?

How many tea-spoon falls are you supposed to put in? <- thats really the only question i have.

Thanks.

How old are you?

I've never needed to make coffee either. Had it once and didn't like it. And as fascinating as it sounds, I've never undertaken an secret covert missions in my kitchen to determine the origin of such rotten-tasting liquid.

So sue me.

You will need the following...

1 cup
1 tea spoon
1 jar of instant coffie (full)
1 kettle with hot water

take 2 tea spoons of instant coffie out of the jar and place in the cup, boil the water in the kettle ( you can do this by flicking the switch on the kettle) once the kettle has boiled pour the water into the jar put the lid back on shake for 1 min open the jar and drink :D :p

I've never made a cup in my life (because it's fowl), but it's not science.
Tried a few different brands all over the place, I must have some sort of mild allergy to something in it, my tongue get's all spotty for about 3 days after I have a cup

It's when you make it for other people and you add too much of one thing or too little of another, that's what gets me.

There some office standard for these things?
