How do Idiots get into university?

Ok maybe laughing at a pen is a bit extreme, but i sit in most lectures looking around at all the geeks and losers - who may be able to get good grades - but have absolutely zero social skills, sitting on their own with the most miserable face ive ever seen.

You have a truly awesome life I wish I could have thought of that. Sitting around looking at 'geeks' and 'losers' which instantly makes you cool. Honestly, that makes you sound really sad. Do you have nothing better to do than watch other people because your life isn't interesting enough?

I would prefer to sit with friends, have an occasional laugh AND still learn. If our lectures weren't full of retards making daft comments then I would have nothing to laugh about and my life would be as boring as yours :)

As would I. Quite unfortunately this is my second day in, so I don't know many people yet and am finding my feet. I can't believe how childish some people act.

lol I like it, we have that exact principle where I teach.

Specially foreigners who have to pay like £18,500 per year!!! Good money.

In my degree at the end of 2nd yera there is a hrash requirment to get in 3rd and 4th yera honours. Less than a 1/4 of the people make it! They just get lots of people enroled for 1st and 2nd year paying money, and then cut them off when the real teaching starts nad they don't have the resources for such a crowd.

I must admit a similar thing helped put me off going to portsmouth. On the open day I went to loads of people seemed to be immature wasters. Then again it was for a Games Technology course so it's not that surprising. I was never really considering doing that in the first place. I just went out of curiosity more than anything else.

I applied for uni on the 2nd September 2003 - Started on the 14th.

1st year - lived with 9 nurses, got into debt, had an awesome time, didnt really goto uni - missed a few exams.
I didnt really like my degree as it was a bit last minute

2nd year - lived with 6 other stoners in the most squlid conditions on planet earth - I'd get up in the evening - the kitchen would have people sleeping in it and so would the hall - it was one long party, I went to uni to aviod cleaning. Failed and few modules and generally did really really badly (Though due to administrative error on the uni's part I didnt have to resit).

3rd year - did the bare minimum until christmas - and utilized all my dyslexia extension thingies to finnish the first semester - did ok!
Semester 2 was good too - came out with a 2:1 (August 2006)

Anyway - onto the point, I went to uni as a thicko just there for the experience - it made me into the person I am today, I've got a massive amount of debt, drank every drink, tried every drug and been to just about every bar in Birmingham, I've got loads of friends, though it did take me till my third year todo any work - I still did ok. Don't be too quick to judge people untill you get out the first year - it'll really surprise you what happens when they start to live a little.

I work for Bellmicro now.

I started my degree with like 70 people in the class, a bunch left after a term, another bunch left after 2nd term (including this really pretty brunette :() and then another bunch fail or left the end of the 1st year, another few end of 2nd year. At the end of the degree, only about 20 or so people graduated.

Btw, Beansprout how much of this stuff do you already know?
Offhand I think a good percentage of the first term for MATH1015, SOFT137, CNET105 and CNET114. Know an ok-ish amount of ISAD131 but not that much. I guess you'd say I know the basics.

ELEC119 I know next to nothing, and I hate electronics, so eek :(
