How do you go to sleep with your partner?

I'm also surprised how common this is.

Is it just one of those things people don't talk about because they think they'll be judged as weird? But many people do it?
Yep. My sister actually questioned me on it and asked "when are you going to sort it out and get back in the same bed, it's weird. "

Whereas she and her husband sleep in the front room on a sofa bed every night cause they have 5 kids and a 2 bedroom house.

Everyone is different and I don't judge anyone... (Except people who wear pyjamas to a supermarket. What the actual hell???) Lol

I can't believe I've just taken a tape measure up to bed.
I started the thread, my bed is 4ft 4ins wide and me and my Mrs sleep in it no problem and have done for 45 years of marriage.
We've probably had around 4 beds in that time but they've always been the same size.
When I slept in the same bed it was always a double. My parents always had a double for 30 years of marriage.
My mum now has a double with her new husband. She's been with him for like 20 years.
Why do other people think it's weird? Are these people so large they think a double is tiny? Lol.

You need to lighten up. You seem cranky. Have you thought about trying an alternative sleeping arrangement?

You're just a troll claiming it's impossible for two people to sleep comfortably in a double bed
You may sleep on your back with your 4 foot wide shoulders with your Teddy Bear but me and my wife never sleep on our backs, she sleeps facing left and I alternate during the night.

20 years together. Generally during the week it's separate beds, weekend is the same bed. This is so she gets a good sleep for work, as I don't work when I'm at home therefore not going to bed at the same time during the week.

I actually just bought a better mattress for the spare room as it's becoming more "established" that our routine has changed this way, and it's good to see that this is becoming a thing generally - it makes sense in this day age were people have the spare capacity to accommodate it, and wives work just as hard and often as their spouse.

I couldn't imagine sleeping in a different bed to my partner. We've been together for 7 or 8 years now. Moved in with each other after a few months (We actually decided after maybe 2 months that we should just move in with each other) and during the time where we didn't officially live together we would still stay at each others for maybe all but 1 or 2 days a week.

Though we sleep in the same bed we don't cuddle to sleep though. We like our bed space so our contact is extended to our feet touching and that's about it

No couples are sleeping together in double beds, it's impossible :)
suerely most couples have queen sized beds or a kingsize ?

lastt ime I bought a duvet some months back the cashier even made sure I knew it was for a double bed...
that enforces my opinion that double beds aren't all that common anymore

This thread is better and/or worse than the RTX 50 series thread where sensibilities are being kicked to death because of unpopular opinions.

* posting from my gigabed

King size bed, we both get into bed have a cuddle then we roll over and when she drifts off I invade her side of the bed harder than Germany did Poland in WW2 she of course tries to resit but is totally outmatched and I sleep soundly with the occasional whack form bomber command in a futile attempt to dislodge me from my new territory.

All until the latter stages of the night when the little 3 year old ally of hers decides to invade from the opposite side of the bed and the combo manages to kick me out after a big struggle.

I think ours is just a double. Never had bigger bed than a double.

I'm broad shouldered, but gf is a rake, so when we do share a bed it's not really an issue. But yeah a size bigger would be better actually

We’re keeping it retro with a double (kingsize duvet). Somehow the master bedroom got magically turned into the kids room and that’s all we can fit in second bedroom. Definitely not because of my 2.4m long computer desk!

We sleep in the same bed. A kingsize with a super king size duvet. We go to bed together Sun - Thurs, 10.30pm, talk for half an hour or so then go to sleep. Fri - Sat my Wife goes to bed before me and I stay up gaming with friends.

I've ruined our ability to stay in hotels/airbnbs because we have a superking bed at home. She's a small human but takes up so much space. I've struggled sleeping next to partners in the past with queen/king beds that I can't look back after getting the superking..
