How far is your commute to work?

About 1 hour 45 minutes door to door travelling from Surrey to City. A mixture of train, tube and walking. The only benefits, have some good commute friends so makes the trip a lot less of a burden.

Otherwise a good opportunity to catch up on books/box sets.

15 miles and 15-20 minutes.

Changed jobs from 1hr30 mins each way down to the current time. Never ever ever want to commute longer than 30 minutes again.

I have as of next week changed jobs for exactly the same reason.

Ive taken a 4k pay cut for the privilege, but no more motorways, no more traffic jams. 15.1 miles door to door from small town to small town, down from 34 door to door from small town to the other side of a major city.

It's about 21 miles for me which on the early shift can be done in under 30 minutes, but on the later start can be over an hour. The end of the M65 and traffic through Preston has been terrible over the last month or two as well which hasn't made things easier.

I'm starting a new job next week that is pretty much the same distance but going up a small stretch on the M6 to Fulwood instead of through town, maps say it will take less time but I'm not holding my breath.

It depends on the traffic, sometimes it can be 35 minutes and sometimes it can be an hour. This is in a major city so traffic can heavily affect the commute times.

About 20 metres.

Anything over an hour each way is my limit, having to spend that amount of time travelling is not good.

I've done a 44-mile round trip every weekday for the last 17 years. Due to the vagaries of the M11/A14, it should take about half-an-hour in each direction, but more normally it's at least 45 minutes. Ironically, if I caught every set of traffic lights right, I used to be able to do it in about 20 minutes (without speeding :)) but those days are long gone, especially now they've started the building work on the A14 stretch up to Huntingdon ...

Recently moved from North Wales, dropping my commute time from about 50 minutes each way (about 50km distance) to now 8 minutes (just about 3km). I actually feel bad for the car as it never warms up properly and it's already nearly 10 years old. Feel like I should start walking :D

I'd be hard pushed to travel greater than 45 minutes anymore. It'd have to be an amazing job to even consider it - it's just not worth the hassle and stress.
