How fast is your Photoshop ?

Photoshop CS4 (64 bit):

8.4 secs - tested it 3 times in a row and was same each time.

System:

Q6600 @ 3.6 & 4GB RAM running Vista Ultimate 64.

with CS3 my time was 1:02 (IE, firefox, Outlook 07, RDC, uTorrent, AS400 emulator all open at the same time)

dell lattitude D820
Core2 2.16GHz
3Gb DDR2
HITACHI Travelstar 7K100 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 1.5Gb/s
Vista 64
 
23 seconds on battery
HP Elitebook 8730w Centrino2 vpro 2.4ghz with Nvidia quadro 2700m 512mb, 4 gb ram (3.something showing) on xp pro, never tried it with vista before downgrading.

yours seems about a second slower than mine for the same spec
 
14 secs.
Q6600 @ 3.3GHz, 4Gb ram, XP Pro SP3 x86, CS2
with loads of other apps running in the background.

The rig in my sig, should hammer that time....hopefully.

edit: tried again after closing some apps = 13 secs.

Interesting to note that 8 core mac pros are barely a second faster.

I wonder what the limiting factor is

EDIT : somewhere around the 3.5 minute mark. didn't time it just watched the sundial on a cloudy day! Think a graphics card upgrade is required :)

Got CS4 portable the other day tried it again with spec in sig and got 8.4 seconds! :eek:

Does the version of photoshop matter on the timing as well?

As before, Q6600 3.2, 8GB DDR2, GTX260 GPU, Photoshop CS4 x64 v11.01
