How many cars have you owned?

Started work @OCUK

For those that don't already know the answer, can we guess where in that list you started working for OCUK*?

I've put my guess in Red.

(*Unless you've only ever worked for them?)

When I started at OcUK I owned my 205 1.9GTi and was on minimum wage or just over. :)

I worked hard and climbed the ladder so to speak and now my job is a global role so it’s changed considerably over the years and continues to be an awesome job that just gets better and better just like the car collection. :)

A Reg - Nissan Micra
F Reg - Ford Escort
N Reg - Peugeot 306
02 Reg - Suzuki Vitara
06 Reg - Ford Focus
11 Reg - Kia C'eed
13 Reg - Kia C'eed
19 Reg - Kia Stonic (current)

I cant remember them all so wont list them but had between 30 - 35 roughly in about 40 years of driving

2006 Suzuki Alto GL YB06 NZH(scrapped)
2005 Ford Mondeo ST TDCI AK05 NNB (sold)
Ford KA can't remember what year (sold)
1998 Mazda 323F ZXI S767 JSR (sold)
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI WR1 LM04 CXB (crashed then sold for parts:()
1998 Audi A4 Avant R98 GWR (still own)
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX YH54 OKV (sold)
2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI wide track BT55 YHS(still own)
2002 TVR T350C LR52 KMV(sold)
2010 Hyundai i30 1.6CRDI ML10 CYG (still own)

2001 a J reg proton. 1.3l of powah
2003 a brand new Renault Clio
2006 a 3 year old Volvo S40 (needed a bigger car)
2015 a nearly new ford focus that's still running now.

I know, boring as hell. I love cars, but I don't have splash cash and as long as it works and carries what I need it to do safely and reliably it's not getting changed.

Just 2 so far. I don't drive much these days, so while I'd like a nice new (to me anyway) car, it doesn't seem worth the depreciation just to have it sitting on the drive most of the time.

2008 Vauxhall Astra 1.6L 02 Reg (cylinder head gasket blew, had to be scrapped)
2014 Seat Leon FR 2L 10 Reg (full engine rebuild in 2015 due to slipped timing chain, nearly scrapped it, but couldn't have got as nice a car to replace it as the rebuild was gonna cost (5.5K))

Next car will probably be electric. I like the Seat, so when it's time is up, I may replace it with it's electric equivalent - the Cupra Born.

2008-2012 - 2004 Fiesta 1.4
2012-2013 - 2008 Focus 1.6
2013-2017 - 2003 EP3 Civic Type R
2017-2018 - 2014 Golf R
2018-Present - 2009 FN2 Civic Type R

I’ve been meaning to get something more modern for years but since I do such low mileage I never end up getting round to it

Not many.

1998 Vauxhall Corsa Breeze. Whopping 1.4l engine.
2005 Ford Fiesta ST - guy i bought it from had it bored out or something so it was dyno'd at 194BHP.
(2006 Yamaha R6)
2008 VW MK5 Golf GTi
2019 Audi A1 4.0TFSI
2023 Audi S3.

We're moving house to a home with a drive this year so really thinking about taking a hit and trading the S3 in early for a Model 3 or Y.

A few:

Peugeot 205 XS - great car, only went as missus wrote it off
Seat Ibiza Cupra - great car, rot box though
Citroen ZX 1.9 diesel (non--turbo) - the very worst thing I have had the misfortune to own, why people bought them new is beyond me- it was £300 though! I gave it away very quickly and I was still at uni so ££ was a bit low!
Audi RS4 B5 in Avus - my first of these, great but bankrupted me!
Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI - garbage really, but reliable
Audi RS4 B5 in black - the "Slowda" made me buy another - and I still have it waiting to get it back on the road
Audi TT 225 - bought for an ex, ended up keeping it. Hairdressers car and has had SO much work (which is why I'm loathed to get rid)
Skoda Octavia VRS 2015 - my first new car, albeit on a lease hire - good car really
Audi A6 3L BiTdi 2015 - my current daily and I love it - I've done so much work to it, I can't justify the S4 I want to upgrade to!
Lotus Emira 3.5V6 manual - my first new car I actually paid for. It's great, but has had it's fair share of Lotus issues.

I am sure I've had more, just can't think off the top of my head!

1998ish Citroen Saxo VTR 1.6 only car I’ve 4point drifted around bends and roundabouts. Sunroof opened at 50mph to get more downforce. Replaced shot radiator after fun trip back from the nordschliefe. Span it at norschlief but stopped on the track with no damage. It’s a gokart of a car. Exchanged for the focus with the engine management light coming on in the car park :)

2007ish Ford Focus MkII 1.8 TDCI manual 1yo ex-demonstrator with all the trimmings and with extra demo ones too. Comfort barge. Started showing a bit of rust after someone scrapped up in a carpark whilst I was fishing. Never put a step wrong. Sold privately and it’s still going.

2017 Peugeot 3008 SUV 1.6 TD automatic, confort barge mk2 with even easier driving. Bought at the time as a plan for kids but unfortunately just gets used as the big car with more luggage capacity than the focus plus roof box combined.

Tend to own for a long time.

A1 4.0? :D

If only. That would be the most fun Audi ever created

Hey, don't get annoyed at me! It's their dodgy naming convention!Though I see I put 4.0 and not 40. So maybe do get annoyed at me

@NickK - funny you mention a Saxo VTR. I saw an almost pristine one a few months ago and got oddly excited. They used to be everywhere now you never see them.

When I was 17 I was desperate for a 106GTI in bright yellow lol.
