How many DINKs here?

Thanks for letting me know.

I couldn't see any positives at all so wasn't a hard decision.

I was interested in your point about "the way you love your partner after having a child". Doesn't having children put a massive strain on a relationship? To the point where it might actually be the death knell. Not trying to dump on what you said, its just you see it quite often once a couple has children the focus moves away from each other and more towards the kids.

Sadly I know a number of people that just go through the motions for the kids despite not being very happy in the relationship as a whole. Without the kids there is little reason to do that.

I do not want children.

While it might be patronizing its not incorrect.

It is pure primal instinct to reproduce for the vast majority of humans. The need and want for sex is the main driver of that. Whether you want kids or not it is hard coded into you. After that it becomes personal choice.

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick. My response was to the implication that if you don't want kids you do really and it's subconscious.

I personally think it's great that some do and some don't, neither is right, neither is wrong.

This is one of the more pointless discussions really as people without kids can't really know what having kids really is like, and people with kids can't get in the heads of those who don't want them.

My personal view is that a lot of those who decide they don't want kids will end up regretting it in the long term, especially women. There's no way of verifying my thoughts, we'll have to necro this thread in 2063 or something.

want kids will end up regretting it in the long term but never feel able to admit it.

I mean that's just as silly a thing to say really although going by the shouting and swearing next door maybe it's not so silly.

Each to their own, do what's right for you.

I clearly prefaced that statement with 'my personal view', I don't know how voicing my opinion like that is a silly thing to say.

Can't chat, got to go make pancakes for my awesome/terrible children.

Oh silly is fine, I say plenty of silly things. In fact this morning my brain is still in bed while I'm up and about so I'm not a hundred percent sure I know what I'm saying.

Hope you and your kiddies enjoy your pancakes :D

2 flights yesterday and both we sat behind or Infront of screaming toddlers.
2h35m of nearly nonstop screaming.... Thank god I had WW2 In colour to watch, those SS execution squads really calmed my nerves.
The activity of this thread has really got me thinking about it all again.
I'm still not gonna have kids but o might take a much more active role with my bro in law's family. Get all the benefits without the mental torture.

Parents get used to it. It is almost as if you get a mental block to it. Eventually they stop and learn. The parents who give in to the screaming are the ones that suffer.

Anyway surely a DINK should be able to afford first class and be away from all the peasant families? ;).
