How many hours sleep do you have?

my working week is 3 times12hour shifts 4pm till 4am mon tue wed so tue and wed up at 10.30am 6hrs sleep then usually less on thu as my works done for nearly 5days so plenty of catch up time
 
I go to bed at 22:30 - 00:00ish and get up at 8:00 .... i usually feel like death though lol.

Never eat before bed... i cant help it i always have the munchies.

There's no such thing really, it's what your body needs, my body naturally wakes up after 5-6hrs if I sleep well which I tend to do. If I'm physically/mentally tired my body will sleep longer. Then again I'm quite in touch with my body's requirements and my sleep reflects that.

obviously there are probably individual variations but studies do show that 7 hours is optimal:

I usually end up with between 6 and 7 hours of sleep. My shift pattern at work doesn't really help, Fri-Mon 1600-0200 :(

Went to bed around 0400 this morning and was back up bout 1000 !
 
About 7 hours normally. I'm trying to make sure I get up only an hour later on weekends - a lie-in is nice, but such a ridiculous waste of a morning.
