How many lesson's/hr's did it take you to pass?

Took me about 30 hours. Took my first test around 23/24 hours, failed with one daft mistake, then passed around the 30 hour mark. I think it's much easier when you know exactly where you're driving, rather than the 'next right' kind of driving you do on your lessons.

Passing the pathetic test is not a hard thing to do, actually learning to drive properly is something that i am still very much learning as we all are.
watching the TV show "britains worst driver" shows exactly that passing the test says almost zero about your ability.

Who mentioned years? I just find it hard to believe the number of people here who passed in under 10 lessons, 1/4 of the average.

What do you want, a photocopy of the appointment card from the driving school I used?

Im just surprised how many people have taken over 10 lessons to get there licence.
And extremely surprised at the people that took a year to do it

It depends on peoples circumstances, I had my first lesson around september last year, tried and failed 1 test and havent botherd since then, so in a few years time if I come across a thread like this I would be saying well it took me over a year to pass, but that doesnt mean I was having lessons throughout the whole time, infact ive only had about 10 hours worth.

(I did do some private practice with my grandad though)

just leave it in the back pocket of your jeans.
works a treat for me ;)

I did that before I got my photocard one, it was held together with tape for about 6 months... it had no hope of survival :(

You're in OZ, you probably just have to drive a big automatic beast of a car in a straight line down a highway to pass your test. Thats what its like in the USA :p

My test car was an Automatic suzuki ignis :o

Never ever by one of those horrid cars. Kill them with fire.

We cover most things in our lessons and tests. We have to check mirrors like theres no tomorrow and we do all the parking and u turns 2 lane round abouts, Dual Carrage way driving, city driving, country driving, back road driving, traphic lights.
I cant think of the reast but there was quite a few other things we had to get ticked off.

Passed on 2'nd attempt with my Car licence.

Passed 1'st time with my LGV category C (Rigid) licence.

Passed 2'nd time with my LGV Category C+E (Class 1 / Articulated ) licence.

Maybe some people don't take years to grasp amazingly simple concepts?

You never stop learning though.
