How many of you will be missing work due to the weather conditions?

Personally I live on an estate, which the gritters must not love because they never come here :p

The main road is about 30 minutes walk away, so I'm likely going to park my car over there and walk to and from my house. Especially as where I live we are essentially at the bottom of a very long and big hill.

Hopefully this will mean, no disruption for getting to and from work. How about the rest of you across the country.

Here's the BBC article, with a useful tool at the bottom of the page to see the upcoming weather.

Am I reading that article right and schools are shutting/train services being cancelled before it's even begun snowing? (in the southwest, which covers some of the train cancellations, it began snowing around 20 minutes ago, and currently not heavy enough to cause issues...)

Anyway, I live ~5.5 miles from the office, usually cycle in on the road bike, today I plan to cycle in on the mountain bike, leaving in about half an hour, currently just a very small covering on the roads, should be fine :)

I have to be in Birmingham by 10, I'm travelling from Lincoln, Im going leave at 0630, sat nav says it should taken an hour and Forty five to get there, I'm thinking 3 and half hours accounting for the general public bobbing their kecks at the first sight of a snow flake is sufficient.

makes me laugh, a bit of snow and the UK shuts down, any other country just carries on going....

You mean the south of England shuts down. The rest of us just get on eith it.

Got to work fine, took a bit longer than usual but that's a combination of mountain bike and headwind, we've got about an inch at most right now, still coming down, quite amusing to be cycling at the same speed as cars for a change...

Oh, and a beemer half-spun after turning into a junction ahead of me, that was amusing :p

Thankfully I worked a night shift so only had to worry about getting home (which was easy because it was all down hill).

Had to work the shift on my own though and spent the whole night praying i wasn't going to have to cover someones day shift because of the snow.

I can work from home if necessary but the roads are clearer now (at least until it snows again) so I will be driving to work today.

travelling by train but there's another office in my hometown. Worst case scenario and the trains were cancelled indefinitely I'd just have to take the laptop and walk to my home town office. As it is I'm just setting out 40 mins earlier just on the off chance there's a few delays.
