Does remind me of my school and college days when I used to knock out a 100 a day for the hell of it!

Maybe should get on this bandwagon seeing how I don't have any plans to come back to the gym for some time this year.

I haven't done any push-ups in a long time :O As far back as I can remember so after clearing a space on the floor I managed 25 decent ones ;) Possibly could have done a couple more but wow that was harder than I remember :D

Just hit 40 years old last December and weigh a smidgen over 100KG if that makes a difference. All in all I am pleased with that though.

There’s a structured programme to get to 100 press ups. I think I managed about 60 when I tried it but got derailed. Might give it another go when I’m away on fellowship!

You mean the one the op posted a link to?

I'll admit that i also didn't spot that and it was only your post that made me look. I did day 1 yesterday, actually feeling quite achey today!

Hah, yes, I missed that in the OP too! It’s a pretty good programme but I struggled with the progression at higher volumes.

I can do just over 20 with exact amount ranging from 20 to 30 depending on how my arms are feeling. But can do 3 sets of this with a break between each. I'm a little overweight but strong at the moment so probably need to lose some and work on building the reps.

7. I can do 7 push ups. This post was brought to you by the letter E.

I'm very half-heartedly trying to get back to the point where I can do 100 in a day (not in one session).

Right now just doing 7x7 throughout the day. It's enough to make my arms feel like jelly :p

Maybe by 2025 I can do 10 in a row.

7 isnt bad i know loads who cant do one ha ha
I lied. I can do 10 :p

Today I did 10,7,10,7,10,7,10,7,10.

I don't think I'm doing it the optimal (or even sensible) way, but I'm starting from *such* a low base that any kind of workout is almost guaranteed to improve matters :p

Think I'll start one of those 100 push up programmes in Feb, let's see if I can get it back.
Let us know how you get on. Would love to see someone else work up to 100 successfully. We can be push-up buddies. I'll lose interest in week three tho, you'll be on your own after that.

Shoulders seem to be the most painful thing for me. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong (somehow!)

10 -> 2 mins -> 10 -> 5 mins -> 10

Try to reduce the gap between sets and I can't complete the full 10.

This three times a day, not sure if that's a good way to do it, but it's better than nothing, probably :p

I doubt you'll be seeing me at world's strongest man any time soon :p

Try adjusting where your arms are, different positions focus on different muscles.

I'm still not convinced by some of these numbers. I see very few people doing full range push ups and without the full range they are waaaay easier. Are people going chest to the floor through to arms locked out fully whilst being in control the whole time and not falling on the down movement.
