Good call. We can totally test the one sandwich option by having the staff bring out little bite-size chunks when the Northerners order a full sandwich. :p

hey, im on your side, and im more northern than half the people saying it two :(

did you mean the idiots can have the bitesize ones?

I think it's two. Or one. No, definately two.

Because:

One Slice folded over into a half = One sandwich.

Two Slices left whole = One sandwich

Two Slices Cut in half = (2 x One slice [where one slice = one sandwich]) = Two sandwiches.

Lets remember that the slice/piece arguement is irrelevant, as a slice is define as a 'share' of something. Therefore, the bread is a slice no matter what size it is.

There's one sandwich cut in half.

If you cut me in half there wouldn't be two Robs. There'd be one Rob cut in half.

(and presumably some blood)
And guts falling out :p

Im with Mohinder on this 1

Edit: hmm i just noticed how long this thread was

No, a slice of a slice of bread is exactly that, "a slice of a slice of bread", which if obviously not a slice of bread :p

Can you explain what the difference between a slice of a slice of bread and a slice of bread is? Also, how can you determine that the slice of a slice of bread is not a slice of bread?

I'm afraid the past is irrelevant in this arguement ;)

a slice of bread is a slice of bread, surely you know what that is, if you cut that in half thats a slice of a slice of bread.

But... what's stopping me from referring to it as a slice? It's a share of something, right. Doesn't matter if it used to be a slightly larger share; it's still a share :)

It's just a thinner slice of bread surely

Just ran the one sandwich halved/two sandwiches discussion past my girlfriend, she said it's definitely one sandwich cut in half and that we are all sad for discussing it :( :p

If I asked someone to get me a sandwich at a buffet and they came back with a single quarter of the original sandwich, I wouldn't be best pleased! Would you?
Thats not answering the question though is it?

If I brought two plates from a buffet, one for me and one for you, and they each had 3 amalgamations of bread and filling that'd be 3 sandwiches.

Forget about folding a piece of bread for the moment...

The logic of because the bread cut in half = 2 sandwiches does not stand. Because...

You still have 1 Slice of bread in totoal in that sandwich, if the logic is that 2 slice of bread make a sandwich, then how could 1 slice of bread = 1 sandwich?

Is that badly written or am I reading it wrong? I've just woken up so it could be the second but that 2nd paragraph seems to make no sense at all :/

Must be legal jargon. If he says its one sandwich cut in half I'm on his side.

Ok, hopefully I'll settle this arguement once and for all!!

Anyone who says that what is on that plate is two sandwiches and some beans with a little onion is STONED!!!!

If you order a sandwich with beans, the above is what you'll get. If you order TWO sandwiches and beans, you'll receive TWO plates exactly as above!!

END OF IT!!!!

Why on earth would you order n. sandwiches with beans? :/

btw, it aint over, because this is a plate of sandwiches, not half-sandwiches :)
