3, 9, 10 & 14 are the only pages this far that you have not posted on. I think if you ask a nice don they may be able to insert a post on the 4 pages you are not on.

Also you have made about 10% of the posts on this topic.
Bet they wouldn't :)

Its really quite sad that you've bothered to go through and check. Worse than any point you could possibly be making :/

You wouldn't know, but that isn't the question we are debating.
Yes it is.

On the one hand you have a plate with 2 sandwiches on that was prepared in the kitchen whilst you sat in the living room.

On the other hand you have a plate with a single sandwich and a knife. You cut this into 2 yourself in the living room.

They are laid next to each other. Both have 2 sandwiches on.

If you can explain the difference here then I'll concede you possibly have a point.

I've had this confirmed by the fountain of all knowledge. My mother.

When asked 'If you make a sandwich with 2 slices of bread and cut it in half.... how many sandwiches do you have?', she responded '2, of course'.

Thread over.

Hmm I just asked someone on msn and he said

I have a question for you
<3 [Spen] © [Oh Help Me, No, You're Gunna Die] says:
If you make a sandwich with 2 slices of bread and cut it in half.... how many sandwiches do you have?
*Bellman* says:
none...
<3 [Spen] © [Oh Help Me, No, You're Gunna Die] says:
how do u work that out?
*Bellman* says:
cos you have 2 lots of 0.5 sandwiches.
*Bellman* says:
also u need to put a filling in it to make it a sandwich.
<3 [Spen] © [Oh Help Me, No, You're Gunna Die] says:
lolol ... with filling in 8-)
*Bellman* says:
strange question to ask..
*Bellman* says:
you could also argue that u still have one sandwich.
*Bellman* says:
like i said earlier, 2 halves ...
<3 [Spen] © [Oh Help Me, No, You're Gunna Die] says:
i said 1 sandwich and 2 halfs but some people keep saying its 2 sandwiches
*Bellman* says:
no because if the sandwich volume is halved then the sandwich is not a sandwich it is .5 of a sandwich algebra u see, if u have X and you divide X by 2 then you no longer have X, because X is a constant so therefore you can only express it as X/2
*Bellman* says:
which is not X.....

I know i said i was leaving this thread but meh

People seem obsessed with the idea that a 'sandwich' is a divisible concept - it is not. The very word and definition are testament to that - '2 slices of bread with a filling in between.

Crucially, no reference is made to the size, shape or origin of said slices. Let's not forget that a 'slice' is a 2-Dimensional shape of fixed thickness, so the triangular or rectangular slice of bread formed when you cut a slice from a loaf in half is still a slice. Thus when you divide a sandwich in 2, you are left with 2 entities, each of which consist of '2 slices of bread with a filling in between'

Take my earlier compartment example. What is the definition of a compartment? 'A small space for storage'.

If you divide a compartment in 2, what are you left with? 2 seperate spaces for storages = 2 compartments.

If you divide a sandwich in 2, what are you left with? 2 sandwiches.

It's as simple as that tbhbbqlol

but there is a flaw in your logic. a Mighty big one.

As soon as you cut that sandwich in half.

What you call 1 sandwich is no longer in between 2 slices of bread is it? It's between half a slice of bread either side. So your logic of fillings between 2 slice of bread does not hold water.
