Hmm.

The main thing that's bothering me now is the amd drivers. Skyrim is still not fixed! Ill be ordering my new pc soon. I've read the 670 is not far behind the 680. 5% tops not 10%?

Skyrim with the new drivers artifacts everywhere, when outside its really bad!

Well since its fixed that could make it easier choice!

The 670 seems to be really struggling there :\

I see the 7970 at the same price as the 670s so its kinda weird to pick a 670 if buying card alone, the 670 comes with the setup ive chosen, i wonder how much to change to a 7970....

I was thinking about a 7950 and try shave £100 off the tag and grab an i7 im now puzzeld!

This is my system so far

Corsair Graphite 600T Midi Tower Case in Silver
Intel Core i5 3570K Processor Overclocked to up to 4.7GHz Maybe a i73770k?
Noctua NH-D14 Ultimate Performance Quiet CPU Cooler
Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
8GB PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3 Memory (2 x 4GB sticks) Not sure if faster ram would be better?
Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2048MB Graphics Card Maybe a 7970? And a different brand.
240GB Corsair Force 3 Solid State Drive
2000GB 7200RPM Hard Disk - 6Gbps
LG Blu-Ray ROM / DVD-RW Combi Drive (Blu-ray playback software supplied for Windows 7 only)
Corsair CX 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified PSU

But rusty BF3 spikes? ;) lol.

I know im still waiting for quotes now.

One thing that could change prices is the motherboard is the Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard worth the extra 50 quid? I know it helps with OCing but 50 quid?

Also rusty how noisy is your case? I was gonna get the HAF X but its ugly as hell! Im moving from a Cosmos S so i kinda like the look. Shame i have to sell the case when i sell my PC or id keep it :(

My brother has the smaller one and its NOISY!!!

Yeah i love the new Cosmos but its £300 :\ and they are silent man!

I know i would not settle for an ugly case the Cosmos S is also stylish so its the perfect case. Simple as hell to open and change things too. Easy to clean bla bla, if i get a worse case i will not be happy.

Well ive dropped the i7 approach, £100 extra is too big! Yeah i liked my old MB so easy to navigate, this is why i try to get a decent board.

Shogun 2 uses 1 core and copes ok, I think Rome 2 will use multi, still i hope 4.7GHz is enough to plow through them?

I think hitman on 4 cores will still be solid?

I still know where your going though and i think this too. Still £100 quid? Im not too sure, specially since Haswell is coming and then probs another gen before we get there.

They know not everyone uses 6 core CPUS and i doubt the new consoles will.

Be nice to be in your shoes greg ;) (PC wise)

Well my budget started at £1000 and now is creeping up to £1300 with OCUK prices!

I think ill remain with the i5 it should last 2-3 years i hope :\ The Q9450 lasted 4 years. This years games it really struggles with, poor sod.

The case i picked is really nice so im keeping that on my list, im dropping 1TB on the HDD but its not saving much lol. I will not sacrafice the 240GB SSD one of the main reasons im going for a full system upgrade!

Yeah its getting stupid how certain games play better with certain cards :\

AMD obv trying to abuse their CPUs since they have like 100 cores in them lol.

People still wont buy AMD CPUs over intel :\

Im getting fed up trying to get this PC sorted :\ Cheapest atm is £1142 seems i forgot shipping and config?

OCUK are charging like £1300 for the same spec, im trying to sort something out with them now.

I found a PC with an i7 and 7970 for £1300!! I dunno why OCUK are charging so much, if i cant sort something by the end of this week ill have to go elsewhere. I dunno why they cant just sell me at the same or a tiny bit lower and make a sale lol?

Yes i can build it myself but if anything goes wrong ill need send bit by bit back :\ Also i dont get the 2 year collect and return warranty.

Well the thing thats bumping the price up is the case lol.

I can get the system for under £1000 but i want that case!

The case is £150 on its own so i can get the system for £1142 with 2 years collect and return but not from OCUK.

Im trying to do a deal with OCUK but they are not making it easy, if they wont budge ill have to not shop here. And i feel bad due to them being helpful with sorting all the problems with my graphics cards out.

Yeah i dont need an OS i have both 8 and 7 prof 64bit.

so i eithe rpay the £1142 with express building done in 4 days with 2 years collect and return warranty.

Or pay OCUK £1300 which i will not do! Ive been speaking to 5UB be i think i confused him as i give him quotes from another site and he thought they were from OCUK lol.

I can build the spec i want with a crap case for under 1k without an SSD but the SSD is like 180 quid on its own.

I was gonna build myself but the £1142 deal is too good SSD 4.7 OC warranty ect all done plug and play.

Ill try shift the 670 to a 7950 and see what the price is but otherwise ill just pay the £1142. They wanted £66 more for an ASUS 670 i may buy the system with no card and buy my card from OCUK, that means i win win i guess.

Hows the ICE Q? I think ill go with the Gigabtye WF, is this voltage locked or what?

Thanks for help.

Im getting it all in for the same price so i may aswell go 7970, ill see how much hell drop the price for a 7950.

Anyways rusty ive been looking at them cases, both seem nice and the HAF actually looks ok too what do you think?

Im sure i wouldnt need to OC it past stock voltages anyways?

Like i said though its hard to save when getting a PC with these parts and it all built with 2 years collect and return, honestly try it the Fortress case is over £200! I have thought about bit by bit but parts will be from everywhere its just not worth it even if saving £50 like i said.

** Linking to competitors is strictly prohibited - Please read FAQs regarding rules **

And honestly its not cheaper, i know people are trying to help but thats the cheapest prices around and its just not cheaper lol.

Even if £50 cheaper like i said i wouldnt bother for the cover im getting. Save me £300 quid with that fortress case and a 7970. Impossable tbh.

Im also getting extra dscount because ive shopped there before and free express build with delivery so its kinda hard to find any better.

Ive price matched everything and no one comes near to their prices.

Like i said if you can build one then just link the basket, you dont need addon just link the page and i will check it out :)

I know they need make a profit and the only way they are is because they buy in wholesale thats the only way. They are not charging nowhere near OCUK prices and im sorry but i still think £130 to build a PC is a bit much. I dont care if its stressed tested for 8 hours everywhere does that and its not like you have to wait around for 8 hours you just go do what youd do normally. They build PCs all the time so i doubt it would take more then 1 hour to fix it all up, probs more time to open all the boxes lol.

Also i picked that ASUS 7970 because of the silent fan, is it worth the extra for the MSI LTG? What clocks will i be to achieve on locked voltages?

Ok thats fine but Bad case £120 cheaper, i can get that pc for 1k with a none B grade heatsink and a 670.

The SSD is also not as good as the other one.

Yeah i did that build on pcpartchecker and its cheaper.

Also thats not even £50 saving and if you want OCUK to build its £130, build it myself save £130 still not worth it lol?

If you're matching exact components you're kind of missing the point.

Well i can get the full pc for £1k without the case i want, my point is i dont want a crap case and its noway to get it cheaper, unless you steal it lol.

If i was going all weak parts im sure i could save a fortune but im going decent parts. if i pick a weaker board it saves £50 but i doubt ill get as good overclocking.

Weaker card i could save £100 but hes putting that it anyways so i wont?

Weaker case i could save £150

Weaker SSD £100

I could whittle it down to £650 quid but then the £350 extra is worth it because its a big step up.

Yes i like that case its nice :) I live in Newcastle.

Well i can see your specs but honestly its not really a saving is it?

How come the SSD i chose is bad? It has great reviews, better then the samsung, and greg said he has no issues?

The pc youve specced is nearly the same with no saving really, so i dunno how people are saying ill save £300 when that is not even £50.

Im not saying its a bad PC i bet they perform almost the same but it has a weaker case which is why my PC is getting bumped past the 1k mark to start with.

Rusty he made a PC for £1070 thats not really cheaper if im not gonna save £300 why bother? I love what you guys are doing and im matching each spec your putting together and they are all decent but the case is the mainm price breaker here.

BTW what is GH?
