how much does it cost you to get to work?

It used to cost me £20 a day to get to work when I lived in Surry and worked in Blackfriars, London. (FML) Now I'm back in North Wales the costs are negligible as I work less than 5 miles from home.

Are the people who have work pay for their travel officially based at home or something? I blow 11% of net away on commuting at the moment, it's a bit much.

£5 in car for fuel + wearables over the year so about £7 for the 20 miles round trip.
about £2000 a year inc insurance and tax.

Or £100 a year + bananas for bicycle.

It is pretty common for an employer to pay for travel costs

I was more getting at the tax laws behind it. I'm aware that you can claim the costs of getting anywhere other than your usual place of work, but to pay for your commute each day is a taxable benefit surely?

0% and 7-12 minutes depending in time of day/traffic.

Work van and fuel card.

Would be 7% and the same amount of time if I didn't have the company Van.

The figure using my car takes average cost per mile based on everything the cat has cost me in the last twelve months

Yep even if "site based" for over a set period as well

Anything over my 56 mile round trip a day (home - work - home) i get paid for

About 15 calories to walk up to the 3rd floor:(

I don't have a third floor :(. Clearly your extra 7 calories used are earning well for you :D.

I've been thinking about building a slide to get it down to 1 calorie (from bed to landing):D.
