How much has your council tax gone up this year?

About 5%. I wouldn’t object to council tax being significantly increased further if it means no potholes, clean streets, libraries fully functioning, playgrounds and parks kept in good order and the types of things everyone can use.

I noted a £400 “adult social care” charge and wondered what that was for given no one in my household is in social care.

£250 odd i think

About £2400 now

The local roads are the worse I have seen them in the 23 + years i have been using them. Its a dodge the pot hole game.

It’s because the vast majority of the councils budget is spent on social care these days and it’s the government’s way of allowing councils to raise extra revenue to fund it as they no longer fund it.
