How much is your insurance?

Last year = Loads £££

This year £388.89 TPFT for an 05 Aprilia Tuono, I'm 28 with 1 YR NCB for bike policy, I have colourful accident and speeding history.

Would have went FC but didn't think it was worth the £978 they want.

17, aircraft engineer, low risk area, got quoted £3500. I then made my sister apply for a provisional licence and then tried it with her as the main driver and me as a named driver on the policy. Brought it down to £1700. Compared to my friends quotes, was an absolute steal

Holy smoke!!. I'm £112 fully comp with protected NCB on my Mille!!. I remember back around 1992 paying just under a grand a year for a BMW K100 at the age of about 19 though. Nightmare!!.

I've had 9 points in the last 5 years and 2 crashes one of which was my fault!

GSXR1000K6 - limited to 2k miles a year/no commuting. Datatool S3. Thatcham lock/chain £212 Fcomp
DRZ400SM - no mileage limit, used for commuting, no alarm, Thatcham chain/lock £196 FComp

41 years old, 3 years no claims (had a few year break from biking, worse.decision.ever) Been riding 'legitimately' since I was 17.

No garage on my property and they don't class my house as 'brick built storage'. (Single biker :D )

Wtf are you riding?

This year was about the same as last year - £185 TP only again, via Swinton this time.

I'm riding on a CBT at the moment - will it help reduce my bill if I do the full license? I'm planning to do it when the weather picks up a bit, pennies permitting. I can;t afford it at the moment as the bike's due it's annual service...

Title says it all really.

I'm 18, Full time employment, have my own car, 1years NCB on bike, and I'm getting (what I think to be) crap quotes (£1k fully comp - £684 TPFT - £493 TP).

Are they high prices for my age or is anybody out there the same age-range with similar bike paying less for insurance?

Worth waiting til I'm 19 (december) and getting insurance then?

Any advice/replies are appreciated :)

Haven't bought a bike yet, but looking at the ER6F as they seem to be one of the lowest insurance group bikes of my liking.

Am I missing something here? Don't you need to be 21, soon to be 24 to ride anything above a 125cc?

A lot of under 21's mentioning big bikes. Is this anything to do with those restrictor kits? I didn't think you could put them on a 600cc bike?

Yeah, if you're under 21 you need to have the bike restricted to 33bhp, cost £100 for my ER6F. After 2 years of passing your test you can have the restrictor removed (or if you reach 21 - whichever comes first).

Although it's all changing with the new 2013 rules now, which will only effect those who pass after they come into force.

As far as I know, it's 2 years with the restrictor regardless of your age. I was 30 when I took the A2 test. Still had to wait 2 years for my license to be upgraded :)

Recent quote for my new R1 (not picked it up yet)

Came in at £615 £200 more than my modded R6!

Not sure if this is good or bad atm, I guess good as its a brand new bike and insurance will always be higher in that respect!

Will find out when I get the reg or vin number for it!

Hopefully £500 mark!

I did some quotes on 08 R1's and fully comp I was looking at £2.5k at 21, yet if I was 22 it would be around the £500 mark and an 08 R6 would be about £400, this is with 5 years no claims and kept on private property. It would depend on your age, no claims and area to say if it was good or not
