How OCD are you over the condition of "your stuff"

Can't remember the last time I bought something second hand.

I have little money... but I prefer to wait longer to get the things I wan't new rather than settle for a used one.

Excluding cars...

Yeah, I like to keep my things in good condition. I just don't think it's necessary to damage them, it only requires a bit of due care and attention to avoid!

Also quite reluctant to lend things to most people for this reason.

I like things clean, neat, and ordered. Things must be returned to it's place in the same state it was taken - a place for everything and everything in it's place.

I hate streaks on my screen, especially finger prints. I don't eat food near computer equipment and hate greasy finger prints on remote controls etc.

I like things tidy, and use mechanical sympathy and am gentle with items - don't like crashing and banging things around (that goes for anything). If that's OCD, then guilty as charged.

Not OCD - i just don't make a mess in the first place as then i don't have to clean it up. :)
I hoover house every few weeks, dust every few weeks, and iron every few months lol...
My car until tonight had a smashed headlight for a month (it still worked but the glass was broken and taped on with clear selotape).
That reminds me - i really need to clean the bath... lol

I'm awful but in an odd way.

If I mess up my stuff, then I'll be frustrated with myself, but put it down to general wear and tear. Stuff like mice, sometimes build up grime quite a bit. I tend to clean them once a month, or more if I'm doing lots of gaming that month... I also get annoyed by scratches. I noticed a dink on my iPad the other day. Really bugs me now..

One thing I'm awful for is letting other people use my stuff. If someone breaks my things, or damages it or something I do get really annoyed....

I get annoyed when people don't put as much care into looking after my stuff as I would.

Is that OCD?

Everyone's a little OCD anyway....

Liking stuff tidy, or always buying stuff new and keeping it in good condition is not "OCD".

An example of OCD: A man turns his light switch on and off 19 times before he goes to bed, because he thinks that if he doesn't he will die in his sleep.

OCD covers a massive spectrum. It depends how much it effects the quality of life for the individual. I have OCD and this is a relatively small facet of it, but still interesting non the less.

I take reasonable care of my stuff. Once it has damage though it's another story.

I generally don't buy anything that I can't replace with relative ease though.

Very. If I'm going spend my money on a gadget such as a TV or something I don't know much about, then I'll spend time reading up on reviews to ensure I get the best for my price range. I'll usually end up spending that little bit more to get the best value for money.

That means I treat my stuff well. I don't understand why people walk around holding their laptop by its screen or throw their brand new smart phone around. Madness!

Im a little OCD about things being neat and organised. With regards to my suff I tend to look after it as best I can but things do get the odd little scratch no matter how careful you are.

Let's say... an iPhone. When I first get it, I'll defend it with my life. However, as soon as it gets one little scratch or mark on it, I'll instantly give up keeping it safe.

My current iPhone lasted 2 weeks before I got a scratch on the screen. As soon as this happened, I stopped caring and probably had another 10 by the next week. :o

So yes, I am OCD until I fail.

This..... prime example was my car, Kept it pristine for a year, cleaning it once a week then one day when I was at the gym someone put a tiny dent in it, I was gutted, next day someone snapped my TDCI badge in half and then pulled part of my rear bumper off. Then the following week someone hit my wing mirror and cracked it.... I seriously gave up caring at that point.

But I absolutely detest it if others do not respect my property, I go out of my way to look after others items and they should extend me the same courtesy. My brother is the worst for this, putting CDs/DVDs back in the wrong case or leaving them out on the side is something he does on a regular basis that REALLY winds me up. He doesn't buy his own things as of yet as he doesnt have a job so he does not understand the value of something you have had to work to purchase.

I've always been on a fairly low wage throughout my life so far, not hard being in the North East. I'd like to think that it's helped me value my possessions more so that a lot of other people I know, who have lots of dispensible income yet treat their "stuff" with little or no care.

So, most of my expensive belongings are in pretty much pristine condition. I wouldn't call it "omg u haz ocd" though, I just value my things :).
