How quickly can you loose weight?

I'm 14 stone and 4 pounds, I'm 6ft1 and a half, according to the NHS BMI thing, I'm overweight, and when looking at my belly, i would agree.

How quickly do you think i can loose weight? I reckon if i lost 2 stone in a month that would be good. I can't be bothered to exercise, so I've decided to not have breakfast, only have a sandwich for lunch, have my normal dinner, but no dessert, and also no snacks every time i walk downstairs. Do you reckon this as well as only having beer on a Friday and Saturday night should make me loose 2 stone in 1 month?

Lipo is the fastest way :p

I wouldn't do that personally tho, the best way is exercise, surely you must be able to do some sort of exercise?

A dinner might be a reasonable portion of chicken in a veg stir fry. Or a chicken curry.

Ah, but the devil is in the detail -what is a 'resasonable portion' of chicken in your eyes?

Some might see a whole breast as massive, while others scoff a half chicken without batting an eyelid :)

No curry is allowed when wanting to lose fat, the sauce is heavy in calories. Better have it grilled with some steamed veg.

just look at the calories and learn whats right for you, and stuff with high protein will keep you fuller for longer.

If you go to a restaurant buy a high protein starter and you wont want that massive pizza...(or maybe you will).

This is my problem. I love my grub, could happily eat half a cow with some sweet chilli sauce.

As of today (as wed is my weigh in day) I'm 2 lb off 4 stone lost since Jan.:D

Losing weight is easy. I'll repeat, it is EASY.

First you have to want to do it. Not in a "oh I'd like to be thinner, but one more cake won't hurt" sort of way, but actually want it. That way you are focused on your goal, and will not want that burger/fry up/kebab as you realise that you will never achieve your goal if you eat like that.

Eat sensibly, as many have said at least 3 square, healthy meals a day. Loads of fruit/veg, plenty of protein and the occasional treat (like 1 or 2 beers on a Friday or Saturday).

Exercise LOTS.

And that's it. Burn at least 1000 calories in the gym 5 times a week, and the weight will fall off.

If you want to do it excuses like "I'm tired" "That chocolate is so tempting" "I'd rather go out and get lashed" will not enter your head. You will eat sensibly and will work out hard night after night after night.

Its entirely up to you.

1st thing, starving yourself doesnt work, the only way to shift excess weight is do more excerise, this includes walking, stretching, situps, press ups, anything that makes your body use muscles more than normal.
Absolute rot! Starving yourself is obviously never good, but calorie restriction is a far more effective way of losing fat/weight. Exercise is for strength and stamina.

I'm not about to give you advice because I'm 5' 11" and 17.5 stone, ergo a fat *******, but I'll tell you about how my wife has done it.

We've got four kids and she never lost the weight after having each one, as a result this time last year she was a size 20-22, bearing in mind she is only 5' 3" you can imagine how big she was (I can't tell you her actual weight as she has never told me). Fast forward to now and she is a size 12 and still losing weight (she would be smaller but unfortunately has a lot of excess skin). It's taken her about six-months so far. How has she done it? Cut the crap from her diet and excerises for about an hour four times a week, that's all there is to it.

I'd like to say she's inspired me but to be frank I'm a lazy ******* and like my food to much, I've been the same weight for years and never seem to put any more on, so I just carry on as I am.

I lost 6 stone in 18 months, That was 18 months ago and i have no trouble keeping it off ... i am 6'1'' and 10.5 stone.
You're underweight. I'd imagine you should be about 12.5 stone to be right. If you're skinny, fine, but if you were over then went under, I'd say you need to see a dietician. Not healthy at all.

I'm fine thank you, all my family is a slim build, and i was before i got tubby, when i was big i was fat, not big muscle and fat.

look on post a pic if you must, i'm towards then end - last ten pages iirc.

I'm doing cardio every day I'm not either working, or out with friends currently. This is normally about 5 days a week. I do 50mins cardio in the gym, 10 mins weights, 40 mins swimming each day :)

Cut out drinking sugar based juice (Ribena) as my main drink and replaced it with water, massively cutting down my calory intake. Slowly cutting down the sugar I take in every few days as my body is used to the extra fromt the juice.

Was 12st 13 at the end of june, and despite not exercizing a great deal (due to busyness, and work, and holiday, until mid July, I was 12st 10 by the 18th of July, and am now 12st 8 as of the 8th of August. Hoping to shift a couple of pounds over the next 2 weeks as I've started proper intensive workouts, and then after that I've just got to see what I can fit in around college.

Aiming for around 12st 2/3 or so.

:)

I think you're missing the point. Never mind.

no you are missing the point, my bmi is in the ok range, look at any bmi calculator you wish...not a tiny graph.

And you get footballers who are technically obese...but they arn't as bmi is such a rough guide.
