how to enable crossfire?

ive installed the 8.2 driver suite and ran 3dmark06 with a score of 12216 so thats defo only one gpu...crossfire is enabled and in device manager it shows 2 cards and also if u unlock the overclocking bit in ati overdrive you can select the second gpu, so imo i dont think this are running in crossfire as im only getting about 40-60fps in cod4,ive tried everything except a mobo bios update,....1. tried xp home and vista premium both with dead ends, 2. tried drivers on the disk and new 8.2 drivers from website 3.tried both with one crossfire bridge and 2 bridges no good, 4. even tried swapping the cards around, both are same make and bought together (powercolor), so not looking good tbh, ive now been trying since 10am yesterday and losing it lol, i couldnt even register them cuz the powercolor make dont come up in the list???? HELP!!!!!!

Wrong frame of Mind to fault find..:D, Go watch a Movie and chill !!

But as You proberly will not .....
Install fraps
dissable crossfire and run a couple of games and record results

enable crossfire and do the same

You should then establish if crossfire is a. not working or b. performing badly
which will then narrow down the fault finding ;)

ok ill try that jakus, ive tried everything so that wont hurt, i know *** the answer will be though as i am convinced that it is working one card only :(

No doubt You may have a Have a nasty problem that could be similar to the OP
but as boring as it sounds slowly and methodically is the only way ;)

Might be worth trying to run the monitor from the lower Card (with everything installed but crossfire turned off) and see what performance that gives

Yes jakus, tried that and when crossfire is enabled i get more fps, so it must be working but having said that im not convinced this is the way crossfire should be tbh, when i done 3dmark06 earlier, it only shew one card when surely it should show 2 and i got 12212 score, does that seem right or not ??? or is it just me expecting too much from these two cards, btw i was advised to take out 1 of my 4 sticks of ram too and i have also put in a power lead into the pci slot on the mobo but dont think it has made much difference m8

been traying ever since i bought the cards to get them crossfired no joy

im same as pwillat, not convinced they are 100% crossfired as theres no suggestion, using 3dmarko6, gpu z etc that they are

im down to running 1 stick of ram (2gb), ive only ever managed to get both cards show up in control centre once & i cant exactly remember what i did

i know both my cards work in crossfire as i bought them from simonmaltby on the members market and he was running them in crossfire and he sold them as he was upgrading to 2x 3870x2's

also just tryed 3d mark 06 again, in the settings it shows up as 1 card with link as false but further down it shows 2 cards, thats with crossfire enabled

turned crossfire off and it shows up both cards in both places on the settings thing, also ran cross fire on and off for results and no difference for fps, it cuts out at the cpu test so cant get a definate score

well i booked 6 days off work and half of that time has been wasted by trying to get these 2 going, personally i will give up now think i will run with just 1 card until different drivers come out, if u have any luck in the future breamy give me a shout [email protected]

6750 @ stock, 4 gig xms2 6400 c4, 2x powercolor 3780xt,s, seagate 250g hdd, xfi gamer sc, tried both with and without crossfire on 3dmark06 and both were roughly the same score around the 12200-12300 mark
