how to enable crossfire?

the results are in....3dmark06 crossfire disabled=8998....enabled=11442 so really this shows crossfire is working and talikng out the extra sticks made a difference but dont mean to be a bit of a whinger but aint 11442 very low for a crossfire setup, i was expecting a bit more tbh,but at least they are working,i think i got 200 more with a basic 8800gt though lol. As i said im glad the crossfire works but disapointed with the score jakus, maybe this wil improve with future driver support from ati and vista......p.s shall i keep both the bridges on or remove one jakus??

Thats the sort of figures I'm getting on a crossfired 3870xt setup, using an amd x2 at 2.76ghz. It would appear that at the resolution that 3dmark06 uses by default, it causes a cpu bottleneck. The fact that there is a reasonable increase (2.5k?) would imply crossfire is working.

Try using a game benchmark in as a high a resolution as possible on your monitor. Compare the speeds with and without crossfire enabled and you should see a good increase. I certainly noticed a major boost on UT3 at 1920x1200 for example. :D

ive monitored hardware and gpu stats on rivatuner and there is gpu activity on both gpu,s in game (COD4) but my fps has dropped to 30-45 in game, mind u my rez is 1600x1050 but when i checked earlier it was 60-70

;) Ok we are into the advanced stuff here ;) Basically if You are not loading the Cards they will throttle down clockspeeds ( ATI's Powerplay)....I can fix this ;)

First You need to set up Your PC as I have suggested

I think we are on the Up now, and Your right His setup is causing problems ;)

right i have disabled crossfire for now and will attempt to get the cpu to 3.0gig stable, ive downloaded and the timings read as follows (CL) 5.0 clocks (tRCD) 5 clocks (tRP) 5 clocks (tRAS) 18 clocks, whats next jakus?

right i have just clocked my cpu at 3.0gig and done the mem devider at 1.1 and seems stable at the mo, does anyone know of a decent cpu temperature meter lol

Whats the CPU fsb and Multiplyer ? and memory speed ?

fsb is now 375x8, mem (tRAS) now reads 15 instead of 18...DRAM frequency says 375.1mhz ...1.1 devider...just played cod4 and running ok so far with [email protected] temp of cpu (STOCK FAN) is 37 idle and 47 under load

yes i have a new case in the shape of a el diablo, its not a top gaming case but it has huge fans lol....just done a 3dmark06 test with crossfire disabled and got a better bench of 9479

unfortunitely it doesnt mention p35 lol chipset for that one Intel INF Drivers for 945/955/965/975/Q3x/P3x/G3x/X3x Chipsetst one....

No problem ;)

Any Gains with the chipset drivers ?

Ok You now need to monitor the clocks on the single GFX card while running games/3d2006 to make sure it's not downclocking

Your Lucky I was only going to be around a couple of hours today but for a last min change of plans....

no gains that i can see with the new chipset drivers....ran 3dmark06 again 9395 this time, fps very low in cod4 but thats not a prob at mo, played CoH and a lot of flashy gfx glitches yesterday ill try now to see if different and also i will monitor for downclocking

sorry jakus but i was curious lol, went into cod4 with crossfire enabled but only getting more or less the same fps as a single card 30-50fps:confused: ill switch back to a single card now and then do some monitoring

Don't know COH what is it?, proberbly new and not fully crossfire supported, but texture flashing will just be driver issues especially if it's a "the way it's ment to be played " game ;)
