How To Make Sure Crossfire Is Working?

So just tried BF3 whilst home for lunch and still cant upload screenshots to imgur for some reason. I was on caspian (I think..was definitly one of 3 you mentioned since thats all I selected) server had about 60people on it and after leaving the base the usage was 68% at its lowest and frames were 79.1 at that point

Sounds about right. Your 7950's are capable of deliverying more but your cpu is maxed out. Cpu usage (which you can also setup and monitor via OSD) will likely be at 90-99%. IMGUR max image size is 2mb. You can also try tinypic instead if IMGUR is having problems. Don't be shy, show us your OSD. :p

So you wanna see my OSD do ya......:p

Yeah delighted its all working. Thanks for having the patience to sort it out. Now just gotta decide what to play next...

Hi,

just a minor issue. i was following the basic (CCC) method. What i realise is that, for a newly installed CCC it will display basic settings and you need to turn on advanced settings mode before you can see option for things like frame pacing. It's probably worth mentioning that in the guide as i was a bit confused before i found the advanced mode. Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll add that to the guide now. :)

Is this the part you mean?

Hi ,
I have tried the link for MSI afterburner, but after installing i am getting a some elements corrupted or missing.
Also when I follow your guide in the catalyst centre, there is no mention of frame pacing in the 3d application settings, it seems to be missing altogether.
I have 2 x his 7950 in crossfire and suspect they are not working as crossfire.
BTW you are dealing with a nooby dunce here, apologies in advance

Runing a Gold Rush pro i7 oc to 4.4 with a ASUS pb278q which is an absolute gem of a monitor, its all lovely kit, the Bitfenix xl is a monster and i absolutly love it. Just recieved all the above from you.

Try sweeping your drivers as i show in this guide. Install driver fusion. Uninstall old drivers, restart, run driver fusion, sweep AMD, restart, download new drivers etc. All links working in that thread. Don't forget to uninstall afterburner first and do not keep user settings, before touching the drivers. After doing all this can you see the frame pacing option now?

Hi LtMatt,

Thanks for the reply.
I have downloaded MSI afterburner, and with it running it is showing readings for both GPUs , does that mean they are working ok in Crossfire?

Also was thinking of downloading 3dmark to test it, do you have a link for this please?

Thanks for your help so far.

Barry

You didn't follow the guide that well mate. If you did you would be using the latest beta drivers and the frame pacing option would be available you to. As it is you're using old WHQL drivers which do not include frame pacing.

I also recommend to setup gpu overlays using msi afterburner as in the OP to monitor gpu usage and performance closely.
