*** How to obtain a bike license ***

So I'm thinking of getting a bike license, anyone else waited until they're in there 40's to do so?

Wife is 48 next month and considering going for her licence either towards the end of this year or early next year.

Biggest issue with her will be finding a larger engined bike that is small enough to fit her.

They'll get over it in time, my mum still hates the thought of me riding a bike, helps my case with my dad being a biker too!

Good luck. :)

Yeah my dad taught me to ride bikes before I could ride a push bike and my mum passed her bike test 1 month before me so I don't think there was much chance of me not being a biker then my sister passed her bike test 2 years later.

Hello all.

Passed theory today 47 out of 50 on multiple choice and 64 out of 75 on Hazards.

So far that's CBT and Theory done.

Mod 1 booked for next Wednesday! feeling like I'm getting closer but I already have my bike so obviously I'm itching to get it all sorted.

Yea well annoyingly I've had to reschedule mod one till 8th instructor doesn't feel we have enough time to thoroughly practice swerve I work in retail so my hours are really odd

It's driving me crazy I just want to go out and ride :(

Well done. :) theory is the hardest part out of the 3 tests!

Whatever :P

10 mins for theory questions, then however long the hazard perception videos are. I just used a theory test revision DVD and app on my phone which had all the exact questions that appear on the test. Once you're passing every time at home, go take it.

MOD1 is 2nd easiest

MOD2 is most difficult, although pretty easy if you already drive.

It's rare they're in cars.
Is it? All my mates had a guy in a car behind them, we didn't do our tests at the same place. I guess it depends on the area, my examiner was doing car and bike. It would be a waste of time to gear up and change each time for a different test.

My first one the guy was in a car because he had an injury of some sort IIRC, my 2nd they were on a bike. Instructor said it was pretty unusual for them to be in a car at my test center at least.

If you can nail the exercises in mod 1 and know the rules of the road then you'll find that mod 2 is much easier. It's basically a ride around for an hour, whereas mod 1 feels more like an exam.

1 thing, don't accelerate too quickly. I can guarantee you that he'll be in a car behind you, so don't bother filtering either. :p

The guy on my Mod2 was in a car, and my instructor told me to boot it - his words were along the lines of make him chase you to catch up :D. I did that and passed with no minors ;).

I've heard of similar things as well.

Another thing I've been told is that IF they lose you whatever you do don't call them etc. Just make your way back to the test centre. Apparently they have to pass you? (not confirmed)

Did some more e/stop today did it on a very wet car park with naff none grippy tarmac, nailed 50kph stops over and over again with a limited run up. Feeling pretty much bang on ready to attack Mod 1 head on, not thinking about mod 2 atm although that is booked for mid september I need to get through this then the finish line is in sight.
