How to over volt a Titan, a 780Ti or a 780 guide

Hey guys,

No matter what I do my volt mod won't work.

Have gone through changing all the settings, installing the new Bios etc.

Using Afterburner 3.0.1 (as the others are out of date for me).

Tried using Zawarudo's program and Rbby258 Voltmod program, neither worked.

Any ideas?

Cheers :)

I've flashed with a 780 with no problems but trying the 780ti bios doesn't work? after entering the command a dos box flashes and closes immediately with this msg:

anyone help?

I had that a couple of times when flashing and had to do the original command "nvflash -4 -5 -6 x.rom" with "x" being your bios name. It might also need unlocking but can't think what that is off the top of my head.

I'm trying to flash a 780ti with a ti bios so i can get 1.21v.

@grester, what do you mean it needs unlocking? I thought the whole point of this was to unlock it? I used the commands you gave on your OP. Cheers.

i tried using ez3flash and that works without a problem. the problem I have now is that MSI only takes the voltage to 1.050 max even if i move the slider all the way to the right. I edited the profiles to the right values still no go.
The weird thing is, it works at 1.21 on Prevision X.

Hello guy's

Thanks in advance for this wonderful guide that i have been following today

Ok first thing really is that i have not flashed my card as i am not 100% sure what profile to use as i can not see my card in the bios folder

I have done the afterburner 1.3V trick. However i have had to do this on a up to date AB as it won't let me install the older provided beta version.

I have also done the Vdroop setting on AB

I tried to use Zawarudos tool, however i think due to the difference in AB it is not functioning correctly.

This said i am getting some odd readings and anomalies (caused by sli i think) that i am hoping you guy's may be able to help me with today.

Ok so here is my original AB settings along with Gpu z for each card.

For this the settings in afterburner was set to replicate on both cards.

Here is a capture from in game with the above settings showing the usage and clocks under load

As you can see each card is hitting 1200mhz, The usage on both cards was 90+%, However most of the time both cards were both over 96%.

Temps are not to accurate as this capture did not allow them time to warm up, from experience in this set up and knowing the temps. Like this they will never go past 41c each

Ok now onto the 1.3V AB

Ok so a odd thing here. I noticed that when i change the targeted gpu in AB, one of the gpu's is still using the original style voltage control allowing me to go to +62, like in the original screen shot.

So for this i stopped it from keeping the same settings for each gpu as i knew the +62 gpu would not be capable of over clocking the same as the 1.3v card. *sorry if im rambling here*

Here is under load with the overclock above, i know this is easily stable as i tried it under load for a couple of hours

under this the temps never exceed 46c and the other gpu temp is raised a little because the first gpu is dumping more heat

however, whilst it is overclocked like this. One of the gpus locks out at a max of 82% usage on everything.

And the overclock of one gpu has gone down, and one has stayed the same.

I have tired to use the vdroop for sli systems in Zawarudos tool. however it changes nothing as does the voltage.

Do you guy's think this is because i have not flashed the card? or is it a simple mistake or something.

Really unsure it's the first time ive gone this deep into gpu over clocking.

System is in signature

Gpu waterblocks : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-491-EK

Gpus : EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2781-KR) ( i would link this however there no longer avaliable on ocuk )

I was truthfully hoping to try and push each card to 1300mhz+, Do you guy's think this is possible

Sorry for the long winded babbling post i thought it would be best to provide as much info as possible.

Kind regards

Hey Harry,

Have you added the 3 lines to all the ven10 files? I would suspect that SLI is using a different profile and as such isn't seeing the other card. As for the GPU usage, I also noticed that certain games wouldn't allow both GPUs to go full pelt at 1080P and some would. I would try something like 3DMark Firestrike and see how the cards work then.

Hi Gregster,

I have done a fresh AB now with the 3 lines in both of the ven10 files.

My on screen display does not work in fire strike, however i tried unigen valley maxed out at 1440p and one card still locks at 80%,

The card that locks at 80% is the card that is successfully overclocking. After adding the 3 lines to both files this card is now hitting 1380mhz in osd ( i will need to stability test this later )

and the card that is at "100"% is failing to hit over 1000mhz even though afterburner is set to match the settings on both cards.
