How to over volt a Titan, a 780Ti or a 780 guide

On second notes i have just run Starcitizen with gpu z in the background. and the cards appear to be going to 1371.8 mhz each.

however one card is running at a max power consumption of 101.9% whilst the other 115.2%, any ideas

The power consumption will always go up and down depending on the draw of the game/bench you are running. If I run 1440P with my 3930K at 4.6, generally my power draw is 100% give or take and if I run 2160P, my power draw is generally at 110%.

I have a problem...

I want to flash my stock bioses back on my 780's, only now I'm on a plx motherboard so nvflash flags that as device 0 with cards as 1 & 2.

I flash them, the cards stop functioning, anything 3d crashes, I can't even open gpuz/afterburner without a bsod, the only fix is to flash back the mod bios

I have a hunch its to do with how I flashed them on a plx board so any pointers or anything glaringly obvious I need to do/check before flash?

So i tried this again with a clearer head, same thing happens. Both cards report as being flashed to the new bios, after reboot I have no sli options in nvcp and anything that tries to read the cards (gpuz etc...) Bsods the system. Though nvcp does show both cards are there and reporting as 780's.

I'm completely stuck tbh, worth downloading a fresh bios from tpu to try?

Right,

Fresh bios from TPU, both flashed, both detected as flashed, system BSOD as soon as the cards do anything, no SLI options in NVCP but showing both cards as present.

Also tried 3 other SLI bridges, same thing.

Complete head ****

Edit: tried to disable PCI lanes, I just get no display from the one active lane

Hi again im back!

still tinkering with my graphics cards

I have changed the cables, both cards used to run on daisy chained 6+8pin cables, now each power point has it's own cable

this improved stability to somewhat of a degree

now what i am trying to fix is the Vdroop sli issue, When i use the vdroop for msi afterburner, it only activates on one gpu and causes some weird scaling issues. stopping the other card getting to the same speed.

I can't use the great Zawarudos tool as i could not install the provided afterburner (got a error about it being outdated) But i know that the tool has a Vdroop sli option on it.

Any suggestions for fixing this?

Kind regards

Hi PGI, just reading these after posting my comment, are your 780's stock design? Im not sure what TPU is from the abbreviation, but if they are stock, same as : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-215-EA

Then i can provide my stock bios ( i have never flashed mine ) im not sure if they could be any different to what you got from tpu

Kind regards

Harry

You can use the latest afterburner and add the 3 lines like you would do for the one in the OP.

Yeah i have already done that :D! To get the 1.3V

It is the part after that to stop the clocks not scaling, there set at the same settings, yet one runs at 900mhz-1000mhz and the other runs at 1350mhz

not sure if this is just a limitation of some sort, maby because i havent flashed the bios? i don't know what bios i should be using

Screw the Skynet bios, make your own bios using KGB mod or even better Keplar Power Tweaker (Handy but not essential).

Set UnofficialOverclockingMode to 2
Using the unofficial overclock method opens up more freedom in terms of voltages and clock ranges, it however also can open a can of worms in terms of stability or weird issues.;)

KGB is not ideal for Kepler and if you read the OC.Net thead you will see why.

It was suffice on Fermi.

Thats incorrect, i used KGB to mod my own bios and it works fine. Skyn3t is a great guy but he is not right about everything. He said to me that certain cards cannot go above 1.3v because of the Architecture and i proved him wrong by showing that you can if you use correct lines of code while running Hex in a .bat file. If you dont believe me go ask him exactly as ive said here. Also while your there PM OccamRazor (Such a nice guy) and ask him cause i showed him proof also! He has asked me to view the specific lines of text in the .bat file but i have not released it yet but ive showed him videos of cards running at 1.3 all the way to 1.6v (Idling obviously).

Even Unwinder will confirm that you can go up to 1.6v on MSI AB "If you know what your doing" unfortunately 90% of people dont know what there doing.

I will release it but not just yet as im working on something else to go in connection with it.

Dont believe everything that you read mate, just because its on OCN dont mean its correct.;)

Be a Shepherd not a sheep! In other words be a leader and not a follower;)

Anyhow Goodnight!

@ PFS38, That is your opinion not others, remember that.

Do not give me any of this sheep BS or egotistical attitude, and you follow unwinder so touche.

I can mod a bios is KGB, does not do much for a 780Ti and FYI the 780Ti cannot be voltage hacked by software the same as a 780.

Skynet did not work for me but the peep made me a Bios with the rev 2 EVGA Bioses (my card is newer so not same Bioses as launched card) and kept giving me beta builds every day till I was happy.

I am not a fanboy of Skynet but in the end with a new revision it works.

Keep blowing your own trumpet.

What's with the attitude? I have a much lower post count yet i know how to mod all cards past 1.3v and simply correcting you. Kgb only for fermi lololol, shows how much you now. Tell you what go work it out for yourself mr know it all. IM outta this thread, bye bye.
