How to overclock a 7850 past 1050MHz?

I have a Sapphire 7850 with no overclock from factory (Of course, I have it overclocked)

I ran it 1200/1375 @ 1.225v (Not the best overclock, but, well, you may as well give tips about that). As I was getting occasional driver hanging, I turned it down to 1100/1375 @ 1.225v, which was stable... until I rebooted my PC

With either of those clocks, 9 times out of 10, when I logged in I get a black screen. Sometimes it's just explorer.exe hasn't started up (Not hard to fix), but mostly it's a crash that I need to force shutdown to fix.

Now's the confusing bit - those clocks can be applied when I've actually logged in, and it'll work fine, with no crashing at all, however if it's those clocks at boot it just doesn't log in, giving me the aforementioned black screen.

I've got it running at a definitely stable 900/1200 @ 1.138v (My card's stock), as it doesn't have the same problem. Anyone have assistance?

(I'm using the display driver in the 12-4 set, if you need any more information just ask)

Hi
Guys I have no idea how you reach those 60 fps speeds, my PCS+ 7850 is 1200/5200 and has 51.5 FPS Max. Can CPU Affect the sores? I have Phenom2x4 965BE @ 3900 and 4gb RAM.

Also is it safe with those crazy Memory speeds you guys have? Since we cant monitor mem temps.

Try bringing your memory speeds back down to stock and re-testing.

You may have bad memory (like me) that forces error correction at low(ish) overclocks.

Guys i got an issue.
Whenever i use the following settings:
1.2V
1100 Mhz Core
1250 Mhz Mem

My screen "jumps". What can i do to fix this?

Btw my Core voltage can go up to 1.3V Where many only does it to 1.25

Not sure how much i can OC this MSI 7850 Power Edition.

Also when i set my clocks too high, the screen blinks several times then i get BSOD 116. Is this a power issue? Do i just need to give it more power?

Well I installed some new fans on the mount I made (includes the apple chime to go with the case :P) and my 7850 now runs a good 7C cooler

Running stable at 1025/1250 @1.036V

Mine does the exact same, done it twice now once yesterday an once today so far :( had t orevert it back to stock :( still better than my old hd5770 so im still happy..............
Only just lol

Everybody overclocking should use the CCC 12.3 driver its the most stable for hd 7850s.

Every other driver causes screen flicker when the card is overclocked and the 12.7 beta driver causes the grey screen of death.

I now run my card at 1200 core clock and 5500 on the mem with no issues at all with 1.21 volts.

I have a powercolor v2 with a ASIC of 80.6.

Recently picked up one a sapphire 7850 which I am very happy so far sitting at core 1150 voltage 1.185 mem 5200 and never strays above. But I have started to experience random lock ups but only in 2d the whole screen display pink and black vertical lines.
Has anyone had this?
I'm using Asus gpu tweak 2.1.7.1 and catalyst 2.6 drivers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having trouble overclocking my HIS Radeon 7850. Using Asus GPU Tweak, I can't get it past 1050MHz. I've tried enabling "Overclocking Range Enhancement" in the options but it isn't there. I've had numerous people Teamview me who couldn't find it as well. Can anybody help?

you need to set GPU Tweak in advanced mode to see in options Overclocking range enhancement.

Hi guys, I followed the beginning of this threat quite closely... im a noob overclocker but ive had my 7850 at a clock of 1050/5400 on stock volts for a good few weeks now with no problems, but playing Trine 2 last night i got a freeze and coloured lines all across my screen (which i know is an obvious GPU problem). So i upped the voltage from 1.075 to 1.085. Is this likely to be the solution? just out of curiosity, how likely is upping the voltage to reduce the life of the card in the long term?

Voltage shouldn't reduce the life of the card if its in the safe zones. Some cards stock voltage is 1.21 which are not even overclocked. I wouldn't like to put it past 1.225 for a 24/7 oc tho.

I'm sorry but how do I do this? Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm new to overclocking graphics cards.

Look at the linked posts in the 1st post of the whole thread

You need a certain version of GPU Tweak (2.6.2 if I remember) and advanced mode simply allows voltage tweaks, so if you can see that you're in advanced mode. If not, there's an odd looking button on the 'home screen' of GPU Tweak ... it's a choice of 3 so it's not hard to mouse over each until you find it.

Hi, One question

I have

7850 with catalyst cc 12.7 Beta

I want to overclOck whats the best Way?

Running latest asus gpu Tweak and change Volt and clock?

But what is with powertune ??? GPU Tweak has nö Option for this,

In CCC Overdrive is deactivatet

How i Set powertune to +20 and use asus GPU Tweak without CCC Overdrive ?

Or Must i ise trixx for powertune + Asus GPU Tweak ?

Whats the best Way?
