I ordered from HP and got it within 3 days. Sending it back though. Being picked up monday under 7 day distance. Nice Netbook but looking towards a Macbook instead for my needs.

If you want it next day then buy from here. OcUK are super fast with deliveries.

Obviously the N510 is bigger so may well not suffer the same issue....Hmmmm.....costs wise it falls into the similar band tbh but with N wifi and a better (?) cpu.

Will have to do more research as I am buying as early as Friday for Saturday delivery as I have several days off work next week that I'd like to have a play with the netbook with and on Thursday car MOT so can sit in the dealer's churning away on their freee wifi and food feeling important and stuff :p

Im the same, looking to order tomorrow for sat delivery, im still feeling the n510 to be honest. The glossy plastics on hp kit and around the screen are finger print magnets, they also show really small scratches which no matter what you do seem to appear. I know the lid on the 510 is glossy, very much like my nc10 which the missus has taken ownership of :rolleyes: lol.

So im thinking the n510 for myself.
 
i have the nc20 and loved the look of the n510 but finally gave in and went for the 311c.

Reasons are i can upgrade to 3gb which will help when i install win7 straight away.

Price as i have now spent £343 on the machine for:

311c
2gb extra
intel 5300 wireless card.

Its still less than the n510.

hope ive made the right decision.

I used a discount code which may be whats holding things up - will just sit on my hands for a few days and see! i can't understand why its taking so long in the "credit department" when they have already charged my debt card!

I would not worry about that as matte finishes wear and get shiny over time, not so with glossy keys etc.

Everything works on mine, drivers wise. You can just use the Vista ones.

As for installing Windows 7, the first time with an RC I made a bootable 4gb flash drive and installed from there. The second, proprr version was done from within Windows.

Just got email from OcUK saying my Mini 311 is dispatched, should have tomorrow :D Will take plenty pics for all to see, and maybe an unboxing video if I have time lol.
 
Couple of questions guys,

1. How do you find the keyboard? Nice and solid? Does it feel cheap and plastic?

2. How fast is the PC to boot, also, how fast in day to day use?

3. Win 7 a big increase in performance on the 311c compared to XP?

Also, what if you have to do a recovery? How?

Thx, just got it for £11.49 delivered also, lol, god knows how long it will take coming from Hong Kong?, although I've bought some camera lenses from there before and I got within a week, pretty good :) I suppose it will be unpredictable though due to the current UK postal strikes.

Still, at least I'll have it one day ;)
 
I bought the same one an hour ago :p

Hopefully the same seller too so he should ship em pronto.

My last 5300 card took a week or so to arrive.


So yeah.... HP Compaq Mini with Windows 7 Home Premium, 3GB ram, Wireless N, ION, 11.6" screen.

Absolutely perfect for my requirements!

Will take pics side by side with a 15.4" laptop to compare etc and stuff.
