HP DM1

I have the same dillema, on one hand I could do with something a little more powerful but on the other it's the price that's encouraging me to get the DM1.

I know! It's a complete ball ache lol I'm be using mine for web design, wathing movies, browsing the web etc.. so the 14" TimelineX seems more suited. But its got a built in battery :/ why oh why did they decide to do that!?

Ok people, can I remind you all that the mentioning or hinting of competitors is strictly prohibited. Same is said for their pricing. If this warning is ignored then suspension will be issued and the thread removed - Please read FAQs regarding rules

I have to wonder when Overclockers will be stocking the HP DM1 laptop, or indeed any other HP laptop in order for any aforementioned companies to be competitors in the sense of the context of this thread.

OC'ers aren't big on Laptops, doubt we'll see any HPs/Toshibas/Dells anytime soon

Hi everyone hoping someone might help me.

I guy in college with me is selling his dm1-4020sa, usual spec
I got him down to 280 euro with receipt and warranty.

Should I take it?

My other question is does this model of the dm1 support 8gb of ram?

thanks in advance.

Just went to are the laptop there still was in its packaging had box ans warranty etc got fim down to 250 final. Will be installing 64 bit windows

Reckon i should go for it ?

I just bought one new for £269 from HP Direct and all being well a further 8% cashback but that will take a few months making it just under £250 in total which I think is pretty good.

I have a question however, im going to get a second power supply for it, wont be getting a genuine one as there more than likely a complete rip off but get a targus or equivelent multi one, what are the specs on the charger that comes with one?

Silly question

Now, silly question.

Has anyone tried running Warcraft in one of these? I'm tempted, as my current net book is kinda dying...again. It's main requirement is to run standard office type stuff (and some trivial coding stuff) - and warcraft.

Preferably well enough to be more then a chat client...

Does it work?

Was going to get an x121e, but got a new phone on the way and got a free Dm1 with the contract. Will most SSD's fit in it? Anyone had experience with this? Also, I have windows 7 on my pc so have the install discs- the DM1 comes with 32bit OS, can you do a fresh install of 64bit Windows 7, assuming it comes with a serial key that is? If so, is there a way of using a PC DVD drive to avoid having to by an external DVD drive? lots of questions- cheers for any advice in advance

Ive not got mine yet but id guess any ssd will fit, as for the os I believe they are all 32bit so you will need a 64bit version, it may or may not accept the key during install with your disc, if it doesnt just leave the key blank and when it gets into windows then enter the key and activate that way, if you have a a 4gb usb stick you can copy your win7 dvd to that and install that way
