**HP OMEN 32 WQHD Gaming Monitor With AMD FreeSync Technology** A light in the quality control dark

How far would you think you need to sit away from these i sit about 2 1/2 foot away from my monitor....do you think this would be too big for that.

Decided its just to big for me think ill get a 27 or 28 inch

I'm probably sitting about 50-70cm back and it's fine. They're big screens screens but not as huge as I was expecting. I think for my desk I could go to about 37-40"

Just a followup to my previous posts, I have been using the screen for a good 24hrs now, played a good few games and the only complaint I have is some very very slight vertical banding when panning, but you have to look for it and given that I have been through 13 TVs (all top of the range) over the last 5 - 6 years all with VA panels I have not owned a single one that didn't exhibit it to some degree, even the current TV a Sony kdl9305 has it, it got to the stage where I had to accept it otherwise I would never enjoy them. I don't think its something that will ever disappear on edge lit VA panels (must be the diffuser or something).

Anyhow I am more than happy with the display but thought I should share this in case it's useful.

I am at 2.5 feet, it's a great size for everything from IDE's (xamarin, xcode, android studio etc) to browsing and gaming.

D'oh. I sent back 2 screens last year because they had vertical bands that were just a tad below the brightness of the rest of the panel :/ Maybe my expectations are too high... I just want my completely perfect old Dell 2407 (now 10 years old!) in a 32" format :/

Honestly they are a non issue, I played some bf4 last night just to test and I couldn't see them, I only noticed them on Recore when panning across the sky or wasteland. Seriously don't waste your life looking at grey walls panning looking for faults, I only mentioned them as I wouldn't be being honest otherwise. My wife always used to laugh when she came in and saw me hidden in a corner in BF4 panning a wall up and down looking for faults on TVs :-)

Maybe somewhere will stock these soon that has good returns. However I am very happy with Mine.

Trouble is I do a lot of Photoshop and graphics work, so I tend to notice screen imperfections quite a lot xD

But yeah, I think maybe I need to stop hoping for the perfect screen and just buy something that's 99%. At this rate I'll never actually switch off the one I have...

I cant see any variation in uniformity when its a static image, its only when panning back and forth across a grayish background that I can just about make them out

This is a photo of the BenQ I tried and returned. It's subtle, but I first noticed it without making any effort to find it, and from then on I could see it in absolutely anything :/ Simple things like the sky in Minecraft were most annoying... felt like the screen was dirty.

When I was checking for uniformity I didn't see anything. The level of uniformity was something I checked because of the size of the screen. Both of mine seem excellent.

I might have to try with a moving image just to see if I can notice anything. I think you'd have to look really closely.

Well it's been around a month now and I'm really happy with both screens. I'm going to order 2 more.

If you're looking for a quality screen packed with features the OMEN 32 is excellent.

Good to hear, thanks for the info :) Alas I need to give fixing my roof priority over a monitor right now, but I'll put the Omen on my short list :)

Hey everyone, been looking at these monitors for ages and checking other similarly prices monitors this fits the bill.

Ive seen this monitor can do 75hz, is this only with freesync or is it something I can use having a 1080 GPU?

How are people getting on with this monitor anyway? Will mostly be using it for games. I play a lot of FPS but nothing super competitive like CSGO.

No problems so far and the monitor is as well suited to gaming as it is for everything else. You have the option of FreeSync off/on and 75hz so should work fine over DP.
