HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

I read a thing claiming the controllers need 1.5v AA batteries, which is fine but I'd obviously like rechargeables but it seems shipping batteries to Northern Ireland is an incredibly dangerous act and deemed utterly impossible by Amazon. Lithium Ion AAs seem to be hard to find elsewhere. Does anyone know more about battery requirements or someone that can actually move them across a few miles of water?

Try a battery charger with bundled batteries. It worked for me ( they won't ship to me either due to a mile of water that other companies are happy to post power banks over).

Managed to find one on Amazon that actually shipped here, unfortunately the expected date is towards the end of the month, but given the lack of due date for the Reverb that might not matter.

I actually am worried. This is beginning to become excuses on top of excuses. You mean they don`t even know when it`s coming to the UK, yet? I should have known that pictures of black boxes mean nothing when it comes to actually receiving the thing.

Not happy.

The black boxes have to be fitted to the aircraft before they can fly your headset to you. Some CAA regulation I understand.

Went back and checked some of the recent posts on that reddit thread, seems some in Germany are reporting their supplier are saying January, even though they pre ordered early, I'm not expecting mine till then to be honest, but hope this doesn't turn Into another 3080 fiasco lol

In about a week, based on what we've been told
Yeah, I knew I would not be in the first batch, but it did mention December when I ordered, but after nvidia 3080 mess i will believe it when i see it lol,
But if you guys get yours soon, like they said, then maybe mine will show up late 2020, but will see,

Still not seen anything to suggest there's any significant delay, other than worried people speculating. Will assume all is as planned until I see something else.

Nvidia's launch appears to have been a rushed response to a better than expected competitor, nothing like that happening here

I questioned that post about HP Germany, and was told that "Pre sales partners have been given priority, otherwise the partner then starts competing with the store on price."
I'm taking that as we used a partner for pre-order, we should be okay - that other poor fellow might be in for a bit of a wait though.

I'm also anxious about delays (wish I wasn't, so I envy you lot who aren't) - I have a catalogue of VR games that I want to play, but will wait until this arrives. I'm having to isolate away from family because of work so I thought I'd treat myself to a couple of distractions.....the G2.....and an RTX 3080. I know how to pick 'em, right?

3080 was such a terrible launch. But the G2 isn't even late (yet) and nobody has said it's going to be.

*Edit* Actually I take that back, a little. First indication of dates I have via systemactive was that they expected in October, which was quite quickly revised to early November.

Technically, you're right - but as many people reported the release date to be September the 15th, I was expecting it then - HP say that they never gave that impression and that suppliers picked that date out of the air. Sure. Still, it wasn't a confirmed date. Nor was end of October, but there was a lot of talk about that being the date - but then HP said they wanted to re-work the lenses - but as they'd never 'officially' given a release date, they are technically not late either. Then first week of November, then 2nd week of November - still nothing concrete. Late? Perhaps not... delayed, I think definitely yes.

Bit unfair to HP that. They've never given a date, other people have. And now people are complaining that it's late or delayed, based on a date other people effectively made up?

I am actually worried enough to expect the next excuse to be, "Sorry, but Covid regulations has delayed the Reverb G2 until january. Not our fault- covid."

I hope I`m wrong.
