HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

Small update for those that care - SystemActive still haven't had word from HP about any shipments to the UK as of 17:47 today.

I haven't been stressed at all about the due date for these but I can't see these being shipped to us for next week. You'd imagine Friday would be the latest SystemActive could receive them to send them on next week but that doesn't seem at all likely if they've still heard nothing because hundreds of thousands, if not millions of pounds worth of stock isn't going to be landing at their door without fair warning.

There's still hope I guess, but i suspect you're right.

SA have been chasing HP twice daily and haven't had a response - not the sort of action that promotes a warm feeling. People clam up when they know they can't deliver something - but don't want people to know.
Or it could be that HP logistics are just rubbish at communicating and they are already on their way. :p

Yep. Logically how are they going to arrive by air on time this week, to get to the warehouses then be out to the pre-order people by the 2nd week of November? That`s gonna take some serious decent logistics and fast work. If we`re lucky it won`t be till the 3rd week of November ...

and I would revise it now to we`ll be lucky to get it even in time for Xmas if they really drop the ball. Just a bit of thinking brings one to that conclusion.

Just great...

i`m never gonna pre-order anything again if this turns into a farce.

Even if it is delayed a lot of us are waiting on 3080`s to power it, Until then it`s just a paperweight.

Nah, not a paperweight - while a 3080 would have course be fantastic most games will run just fine on current hardware. I mean it's no more technically demanding than the G1 which has been out for a year and half already.

MRTV for example did all his testing on a 2070S and it did a perfectly serviceable job with games he showed like Alyx, project cars etc. I just so happen to have a 2070S too, and while I am indeed planning on picking up a new GPU so I can run higher settings I do expect it to work just fine until that time.

I'm not going to get overly upset about the "delay", this isn't exactly a typical year anyway so if they even get it in my hands before Christmas it's probably a win! It is getting harder and harder to hold out on picking up a Quest 2 to tide me over though - I sold my Quest 1 back in September so it's getting to be quite a long stint without a VR fix for this junkie.

Agree with all of that - and sympathise with selling the OG Quest - I still have mine, but have been saving games up that I don't want to play until I have the new headset - the Quest only gets used for Population One right now.

Sold my Rift S back in August so I`m definitely feeling the pinch. No matter, I`ll just do 2D games and my work. I`ll get over it if I must. I have other plans even if in the end I just get a refund.

Funny, that was actually part of my reason for selling the Quest earlier - I had already decided in my mind how much better the G2 was going to be and it really put me off "wasting" new experiences on the Quest lol. The Quest 2 however is a lot closer to a G2 than the original was, so it is getting mighty hard to resist when it's always in stock at the local supermarket every time I go!

Welcome to the club then my VR-less brother! As of this month I'm now off work for 6 months (50% contract 6 on 6 off) due to these wonderful times we're in, so I'm sod out of luck on the doing my work front! I need to do some "work" on the sim rig anyway I guess.

SystemActive email today stating all still on track for 2nd week in Nov. Slightly concerning that they've quoted an HP employee on Reddit, rather than an official HP source of theirs though :)

Unfortunately, as far as we are aware units have not yet been sent to Europe. Our latest official communication from HP is that they will start shipping to us from factory Week Commencing 2nd November 2020. Shipping from Factory to us normally takes 10 days. We are fully prepared to get them out the following day. We will email again as soon as we have confirmation they have left the factory.

You would have got this too no doubt. I also heard that a reasonable number was allocated to the UK pre-orders, with 100's each week after. Now you can take that with a pinch of salt, as until HP actually ship these things, no one really knows. I'm a little more optimistic though.

I wonder what the initial allocation will be - hundreds or thousands? I ordered late July and my order number is in the mid/low 2000’s so will be interesting to see how quickly that can be accommodated.

Shipping from factory week commencing 2nd November I guess one has to assume that could be leaving on the 6th. 10 days travel time plus say a day for turnaround and a next day shipping service would mean we could reasonably expect to start to see them from the 18th before getting grumpy. Couple of weeks more waiting probably then.

Funnily enough that’s the same day as the 6800/6800XT launch!

Around 1k for the first batch - again, take that with a handful of salt. HP aren't very forthcoming with information, even to their partners.

Borrocks, so I could be well into December then at 2000+

Might have to give in and go and buy a quest 2 while I wait.
Again - pinch of salt time, but there's talk of a good flow each week thereafter, so it might not be that long a wait. It all depends on if HP keep to that. I sincerely hope they do - SA made 'Day one' promises to a lot of people.

Oh cr*p.
Their original statement saying second week of November for first preorders and early december for preorders after the end of September made me think I'll get it mid- end of November ( I preordered early September)

It seems people who preordered it in July are exre even less optimistic with their delivery times than me...

What is going on with HP and Nvidia? Is this Covid related?
I was wary about the Index with their year long backlog, hoped pre ordering this one would get me one on time. Now I'm worried.
