HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

Just got the message in my email too. Basically we aren`t gonna start receiving until the 3rd/4th week in November for the early pre-orders since it takes 10 days from HP shipping out to they receiving them. Expect everything to be at least 2 weeks later than we expect. And I`m trying to be positive here. We don`t even know what this ridiculous covid lockdown will do to that.

I think 3rd week in Nov is likely for the 1st batch. I have no idea if I'll be in that batch, but they are supposed to get a steady stream of smaller batches thereafter. I don't think the new Covid situation will have any bearing on it, fingers crossed.

My worry is if it delays any more, we`ll go into December and the Holidays and that will be that. Most of us won`t get it till after Hols in January. While I intend to visit my family, no matter what the Lockdown rules say, I did hope to enjoy using the G2 for a bit over Christmas time.

Fingers crossed you will. I think the process once it's shipped to the UK is really quick - they will likely go from the Distributers direct to you - normally next day - it might be an extra day or two on top once we get into silly season, but that shouldn't make much difference. It's all down to when HP finally ship though, but I am optimistic for once.

I'm at 4000+, as i preordered early September.
Hoped for November but I'm worried now.

Also I bought a GTX 1070 for VR 4 years ago, but then a new rift came out with no IDP adjustments( and i'm out of the range) then I was trying to get the Index but people were waiting 8+ months so then I preordered G2.
Been planning a VR headset since Oculus was announced.
Now it took so long my Expensive graphics card is out dated. Sigh.

Still, I can wait a bit longer, been waiting for years now.

Yes, the order number in the confirmation email.
At least that's what I think it is.

I see. That`s in the thousands then. Well good news is a single airfreight aircraft can easily carry that much. So 4000+ units shouldn`t be a problem, I think, just all the loading/unloading. Of course, when they send one to the UK is the issue right now.

I wonder what number current customers are at.
I'm supposed to be in the first batch.
Maybe it was 5000 units planned?

I'm still hoping for November. As far as I know the Chinese factories are up and running atm.

It's a good question! I'd not thought of that. So I just asked if the order number is relative to your place in the queue, here is the response:

"No it doesn’t We have some other rolling projects with other vendors so it rolls off and order number based on a particular purchase, and does not tally up with a HP Reverb order number count specifically."

I ordered on the 3rd Sept. Order number 38**
Currently have a totally new build, but still waiting for an AMD CPU and GPU (either 3080 or 6800XT).
So out of a CPU, GPU and VR... I have no idea which/when I will receive them. I am hoping I get them all by the 20th Nov, that would be the dream!

Ah, bugger. Well that`s blown that theory then. Still it must be in the thousands, not hundreds .

I think that you should take this as positive news - I think it is an incremental number, but not just for Reverbs - so chances are, you're a lot higher up in the queue than you thought.

Oh interesting, it seemed to scale perfectly with everyone who ordered progressively later getting a higher number so I assumed it was purely to do with reverb orders.

Wonder what else was rolled in? Hopefully something with lots of orders!

Well, you know the IPD range of the G2 is between 60 and 68? So you are going to be out of range out of that headset too.

Sorry if I am telling you something you already know, but, some people read about the Physical IPD adjustment and presume it can be adjusted to fit any IPD.

Have you considered the Valve Index? It goes down to 58.
