HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

I think it maybe the case... MS control the winMR platform.

Such a shame. Imagine if Oculus partnered with HP to bring it out as a rift 2. That headset but with insight tracking using quest 2 touch controllers would be the mutts nuts

And wireless!! (with no latency while we are dreaming :p )

MRTV?? lol He is just a hype machine for whatever headset is coming out and I wouldn't take his reviews as any indication of how any product will work in the real world.
It was a live video, and all I was asking is to point out what issues there were with tracking in that live video. If there are lots of issues, surely they would have popped up in a live stream. Scopes seemed fine to me, controllers occlusion - not a problem, fine movements - fine, tracking jitter - non existent. I am not sure what people are disappointed with?

Truly wireless 0 latency VR with no compression artefacts. Well, I don't think its currently possible with VR, but maybe magic mushrooms or other substances would sort of bring you into a semi-virtual world. :)

Was watching another youtuber (cas and chary). Seems like MRTV is holding the rifle further away from his body, whereas they were holding it closer when scoped. 18.37 in mrtv's live stream is a perfect example, he's holding the a long way away from him. Whereas Cas and Chary seemed to be holding it in a more typical rifle position.

EDIT - See he holds it closer later and it still seems OK. Still not as close in my mind, but definitely not a problem.

ugh, got the email as well. 30th of November for...July orders only?
And I was still hoping for a November delivery for my 17th September pre order, as HP originally said. Sigh.
On the other hand, people in australia and the US are getting their headsets now even if they've pre-ordered in november. Seem random.

Just snuck in there with an order at the end of July!

Hopefully the rest of the pre-orders get fulfilled in quick succession.

The tracking is going to be absolutely fine if this is your first headset, put simply you won’t know any better and it appears perfectly serviceable... you will quickly learn to work within its limitations. Someone coming from a vive/index may find it more frustrating, but even then I think a lot of it is fuss about nothing, we will see when I finally get my hands on it!

In VR you tend to over compensate closer to your head when drawing your weapon up to scope. Depends on what you're firing, the L85 i used to fire wouldn't take your eye out, but i wouldn't pull up the old SLR or anything else with a kick to it toward my eye socket.

I'll take a wild stab at it and say probably non of the You tuber folk have ever fired an assault rifle:)

I massively recommend a gun stock too if you're going to be doing lots of VR using two handed guns - it makes such a difference to how stable you can get, and by virtue of setting the butt plate to firing hand distance physically it prevents you from drawing the weapon too close to your headset too.

I'm hoping the G2 controllers will slot into my old quest gun stock without having to make new mounts!

Rubbish, bet you are secretly hoping that they don't fit so you can start some new building project!! :p:D

Haha, I've already got a backlog!

The sim rig is actually almost done to the first stage, but now I've also decided I should design some load cell pedals because why not. Also today I've been designing an FCU style button box for the rig too.

100% this.

I have the Mamut stock and grips - and I've seen MRTV and Tyriel use them with the G2 controllers, so woohoo!

Also this.... You would never shoulder a rifle that close in real life, even low end recoil would do some damage - P.s. SLR, showing your age there fella! But I started off with a .303 in the cadets, and my shoulder has never been the same.

Your eye shouldn't be right up against the scope, but typically your rear hand is going to be only a little in front of your face (and below of course, but I mean in an outwards direction). In terms of a headset and your hand, it's going to have the controller just a couple of inches in front of the headset.

I do agree with that - for me, with the gunstock set up for something like an AR15 or M4, I'd say the grip hand was about 3 - 3.5" away from the headset.
But it's all a preference thing (You can adjust the stock length on many platforms)

It seems like an unfair mess.

Well said!

Overall MRTV reported no controller occlusion, cas and chary did report occlusion. I am wondering if it's about the recent WMR update or some other settings that are different.

Thanks for the tip on the stock :D.

First shipment only covering July,
O well ,I always assumed end of 2020/early 2021,
After waiting for a 3080 I'm mentally prepared for delays lol
When did you pre-order again?

IDk if I should hope for a pre Christmas delivery for my 17/09 pre order

It's good to see so many people are getting theirs. based on Reddit, a lot of people in Australia and canada and the US are getting them this week.

Good as in not the "other countries are getting them before us" part, but altogether the shipping has started, and production is in full force.

Why Europe is last is beyond me.
