HP Reverb G2 uk release date?

ok screw it. Knowing that the EU deliveries due to be shipped on the 13th have still not left HP yet and HP are radio silent with their distribution partners.... I am.. keeping my order for now but also gonna try this, arriving Thursday for use with my Quest 2.

went for the 5m version with the booster in it. under £30 if it does not work well @90hz i will send it back. BUT depending on how good it is i may cancel my G2

The other option would be to keep it and hope I can pull back the £560 (it's a UK order but I lost £35 on it due to long story not relevant here) and also help someone else jump the queue.

I will sleep on it.
 
Did SA not state they were only confirming the order was on the way to them when HP provided proof they'd actually left the factory? Considering the German initial pre-orders will take priority now (I'd imagine) it makes what was a remote possibility I'd get mine this year a non-starter. Getting closer to cancelling and getting an Index since I already have base stations, HP don't deserve a penny of anyone's money!

Not effecting us or the UK shipments. Ours have been confirmed as shipped from factory, and are covering the orders placed in July.

Bestware are talking about the orders for their customers in Germany and a few others in Europe.

What a freaking shame. Not the delays, the radio silence on the HPs side. It has 0 excuse. Even if they totally cocked it up and are now running around like headless chicken having no clue on when they could send more units, they could at least come up with a decent apology.

Well, HP **** the bed on a major hardware release. I honestly don't understand who is heading this up...if you've worked in corporate IT for more than 5 minutes, you know transparency is going to help you at this stage.

Someone high up in HP needs to be sacked. It's a disgracefully managed project from start to finish, if you exclude the engineers.

Web site still says if you was to order now it will be fulfilled this year, but i cant see that happening,
I see connection in the states have said they are now going to be next year if you ordered today, a bit more realistic , Hopefully they send them thick and fast to SA

I think that you're right, if you ordered today, I think they'd struggle this year.

But, I think that if you ordered in September, you stand as much chance of getting your headset as those in July. The UK specific pre-orders weren't anything like the amount of the Bestware tally, because they were taking orders from a lot of the EU (And UK for some reason, perhaps on price?). Also the US orders were considerably larger numbers that the UK, so they will struggle a lot harder to meet their pre-order customers.

September orders in the UK might not get in on the very first batch, but I reckon they will be fulfilled this year.

Again...still have my fingers crossed.
 
The reason bestware had a lot of UK orders was either HP or SA ballsup UK price. Iirc they were charging £650 in UK and £556 from nbestware.

It was fixed after a day or 2.at which point I canceled and ordered from UK... But by the time I paid currency conversion fees iay as well not have bothered. I paid.... £556 iirc and got £518 refund.

I will be doing some proper testing to see if I can live with the tracking and compare visuals to my quest 2. It could well be i still sell mine so maybe 1 person will get to jump the queue and at less than RRP as well.
 
SA update. At least we have some firm dates now. Really annoyed I ordered on 1st August though :p

We had our update meeting with HP this morning and we are passing on this information as promised.

We were inundated with calls and emails following last weeks update. Quite rightly customers were requesting delivery expectation for those who pre-ordered August onwards.

It is with great pleasure we can announce much better news than we anticipated. So here goes:
  • Those that pre-ordered by 31st July will receive their orders on Tuesday 1st December (Really sorry guys this has slipped another day!)
  • Those that pre-ordered between 1st August and 30th October will receive their orders by Thursday 10th December

We will follow up with another update for those who pre-ordered after October 30 as soon as we hear more from HP.
