Yes, perhaps we shouldn't forget that Amazon are still to enter the tablet market, and it looks as if it may be at a very competive price.

At the end of the day, I think I would rather have an Amazon product than an HP TouchPad... but of course we don't know what the final price will actually be yet! :)

I am just going by every review I red @ Big Ted, not one gave it a very good score, I am not saying it is not high spec, but would you really buy this over the new sammy or even ipad2 as that was what the price point was, and I think most reviewers got it spot on when they said you would not.

I believe the majority of the problems in the reviews is down to the software rather than the hardware.

It will interesting to see how it performs once a good port of android gets on it.

I agree though I would not buy this at the full price.

Neither would I buy the iPad either for the same reason. Too much control over the product and lack of ability, ipad especially for quality of cameras and lack of flash etc.

I hav a Xoom and love it, just waiting for android for the touchpad now.

We don't know other things like will it only work with the Amazon store (no Google market etc), will it be Honeycomb not Froyo (I expect Froyo), will it be upgradeable to newer versions of android.....

I snagged a Touchpad at full price on Tuesday from Argos. It arrived on Friday, but I've only got back home today. I tried ringing them to confirm that they were definitely refunding the difference but wasn't able to get through, so I have a boxed Touchpad here that I'd love to open - have people had their money back, convince me to open it!

Also try

I have heard nothing but good things about the xoom, add to that a price point of £330 makes HP's decision to price so high even more daft, you must wonder if they even looked at the competition

I got the xoom for mega deal.....

Paid £199 on all you can data plan (no limit on amount used or what used for so use it as local wifi as well) @ £25 a month over 2 years (sold an iPad 1 to cover cost)

Then my old data plan was canceled (£15)

Dropped from 50 meg to 30 meg on Virgin (saved £10 a month)

So basically swapped an ipad 1 wifi for a 3G Xoom at no extra cost a month.

Freebies I have bagged are, charging dock, car charger, folio case, keyboard and mouse, plus £20 goodwill payment from carphone warehouse for delays in supplying bits. :D

Tablets are seriously over-rated, nice for a bit of fun every now and then but that's it.

Depends on what you do.

I have a netbook on the shelf I haven't touched since April, plus spend more time on the sofa than at the pc now :p

For serious work not so good, for other stuff great.

Even used it as a satnav from southwest to remote holiday let in snowdonia earlier in the year.

Plus was able to find my car after wandering around aimlessly in several places.
