All you saying that tablets are just toys etc, its all down to what you want to use it for.

The vast majority are happy with a low spec PC as it does what they want it to but that doesn't make it a toy.

Tablets are great media devices that also do the internet, email, social networking etc the same as a smartphone but on a bigger screen.

Just because you don't want one don't mean others won't.

I've had a zoom since April and use it more than the PC or netbook......

I disagree. The Touchpad is still a better tablet compared to all the others that retail @ £200.

It's only when you get into the £275+ bracket that the Touchpad stops making sense.

The Amzon tab will probably change this reasoning over the next month though.

It might be a better tablet, but I think the actual price of them is just too high to justify, IMO of course. I'd pay around £150-170 for a wifi only tablet, not more

And that wasn't from the epp store but the "dodgy" link?

Why won't mine change...damnit. :p I did order mine 30 mins after you. Maybe I missed the deadline.

Pretty sure it was the dodgy link, I was ordering from loads of places so it may be the EPP one.

Ok, I got the price wrong for the iPad 2 price comparison..It would actually cost £100 more than a Touchpad, plus £15 Delivery...

Still, £200 for a touchpad is re-donk-ulous...

Not really, it is a top quality Tablet up there with the iPad and superior to Honeycomb based tablets :p

My 32GB came today.

MANY MANY Thanks to:

Deusex - For giving me his unused Argos reservation
Darkshadow - headsup on the reservation above
ScoobyDoo69 - My OcUk Courier for Hire who went and picked it up in person for me - In Birmingham (Epic wins! :D)

A real team effort by OCuK members so, anyone who nay says the boards for what they think is profiteering can GTFO.

I concur, I've had two touchpads since they launched and they've hardly been put down since. The EeePC netbook has since been relegated solely to Westfield engine tuning duty - it's not left the garage in six weeks poor thing :-)

When the other two Touchpads arrive I'm sure they'll be used just as much (the the boys can then have thier own rather than pestering mum and dad for a go on theirs :-).

has anyone got the link for all the tweeks to make it run better/faster please. Also do you need screen covers as it says they are Gorilla glass, so I am guessing they should be tough..

Tough enough for young hands though?
