Really? I thought back orders would still be fulfilled - admittedly I only glanced the email. I did speak to them on phone as I had a dispute over a cancelled order, but their advice was all over the shop. They're up against it but haven't covered themselves in glory.

I don't either... it just happened!

I opened a new account with them when I placed the order at 6pm, received an acknowledgement within 5 minutes, and then the second email (well 2 actually) about 10 minutes later.

It definately says "We are now preparing your PC ***** order for delivery ." and a bit further down... "Your products will be prepared for dispatch and a further e-mail will be sent when we have your parcel tracking number(if applicable).

It all sounds quite hopeful to me, but of course, it hasn't actually been despatched yet!

Edit: As you managed to order one so early, I assume you went for the 16GB model? By the time I came home and checked the sites they were only offering the 32GB 'bundle', so that was the one I ordered.

I asked for my old order to stand and they said I would need to re order, looks like there will be plenty this time though

Yes 16 gig as it will mostly be used for web browsing. And I'm hoping there is some method to stream the music from my pc, like you can on android. so the extra space would have been a waste.

You can stream music no problem

I use kalemsoft media player with media streamer, it does audio and almost every video format.

buy from kalemsoft site for more up to date version and cheaper (£3.88)

you need java software installed plus other as in http://forums.precentral.net/canuck-coding/274461-webos-quick-install-v4-0-a.html to install software, its all part of loading preware and speeding up the touchpad.

Yes, EPP told me that all orders with a status of back order that were made before lunchtime on 23rd Aug will be fulfilled - they didn't say it would come out of this "new" stock though - maybe they've got some stock from elsewhere to honour those outstanding orders?
 
my touchstone turned up 4 hours after them sending me a shipped email, got my case shipped email this morning, so I am expecting that to arrive today as well..

slightly regretting buying the case as a lot of user on Hotdeals are saying the £5 ILUV one from play is far better, which will be dissapointing as HP's one is 4 times the price
