Poll: HP TouchPad - $99 in US - any sign of UK drop?

I've been busy for the last couple weeks, touchpads still being made available from (r)etailers?
I've been trying to get one from the start but only have a touchstone and case which are rather lonely without the touchpad.
Going on a long haul flight on Sunday too, so would be nice to have one for then.

Argos and CPW are possible candidates so far ...
- Argos might had a glitch in their email notification system but yet, according to people who talked with them, they actually might have stock (when and how much is unknown)
- CPW almost certainly have some stock but we don't know how and when they'll release it (their site is currently under maintenance) ... my problem with CPW is that even if they put the stock online, I can't buy one as they accept only UK credit cards :/

Nope, nothing here yet (via a family member) and they applied at 9:17am on the registration day.

The registration went in too early then.
They opened the registration early at 9:15am.. a good thing too since the site fell over at 9:30am!
I registered mine at 9:20 and we've been told we should hear this friday (23rd) if we've been successful. Otherwise unfortunately not.
As for other retailers we've also been told that HP aren't shipping any more out (in the UK at least). If retailers suddenly get some stock it's likely it came from their distro center.
I am actually quite surprised to see that exactly half of the people who voted in the Poll so far haven't been able to get a TouchPad at all.
Perhaps some were only prepared to pay the 'fire sale' prices, rather than the increased price of the bundles sold by the DSG, as the 32 GB ones were actually availabe to purchase for about five hours, which is a long time in this saga!

I would have bought a 32gb bundle if I hadn't already thought I was getting a 16gb bundle from PCW - pretty miffed since they were indeed on for a few hours after I had ordered my 16gb.

Just to give you guys a heads up. Selected CPW stores will be getting a final batch of these HP Touchpads. I dunno when, which stores and how many there will be, but there will be a final delivery. No reservations and no calling up the store to check because stock managers have better things to do during the day than answering calls about Touchpad availability. Going to be a first come first served basis so good luck!
Don't bother calling up head office and when one store says to check out a nearby bigger store, expect to be disappointed because many staff are lazy to do a quick 2 minute local stock check on the system. And then when a busy store like mine gets these customers coming in, we end up with pee'd off people walking out cos we sold out.
And no, don't bother asking about the display model because HP pay CPW to have that on display and it comes restricted with their demo content anyways! And all the mank from people's fingerprints and bogies

I can guarantee the staff will snap these up as soon as they come in. An employee from CPW told me so last Tuesday in Dundee.
No you can't guarantee it. There is a very good chance yes, but there will be stores where the staff will either not want them or already have them. Because one person in Dundee told you something it is not gospel.

Finally got my mitts on a HP touchpad (32GB), last one in Teesside too. I rang them and they said they 1 left and I could not reserve or pay over the phone, queue me racing across to Teesside Park in record time!
So yeah, ring up all your local CPW stores and there might be a slim chance of picking one up.

Just managed to pick one up today from the CPW at Tottenham Court Road. Bought the official dock and official case bundle too at the same time, not sure if it was a good deal on them £52 but figured that I wanted them either way.
Looking forward to having a play, will see if I can get Android on it too.
