I think the 16Gb ones went quick as I wasn't offered a choice

No nor me although they did say there was only 300 units of that size. So really a matter of minutes until they were out of stock. Any clues on shipping dates? I had a quick skim through the email and thought I'd read something along the lines of shipping all of them out together.

Another batch of touchpad emails have hit the office. No luck again, although a guy who got his registration email 4 minutes before me got one, so I'm really hoping that my time will come tomorrow.

Edit: auditing appears not be working/wasn't implemented. People who received one first time now have a second :|

Sounds fairly unlikely, unless they're selling at the original RRP price.

My bro managed to get a 32gb from Amazon at the weekend for the firesale price. I bought that one off him and sold him my 16gb for £80 (bought in the £200 bundle) so have made a nice loss on that, haha. :p

Finally got one!
Phoned up what i thought was the bridges edinburgh store (long gone) asking if they had any in stalk or where expecting delivery. Was put on hold while they went off to check, couple mins later came back and was told sorry. 5mins later received a call back telling me they have the 32gb in stock and asking if I wanted to reserve one and it was actually the St James Centre! Threw on some clothes and rushed into town!

Can't beleive they actually called some-one back and reserved! Also the woman who served me was also surprised that they received any as they don't sell tablets and they are just a tiny store.
Got came in while I was there and I think bough the last one from that store. He too had also been trying for ages and had a keyboard bought already, so if you are here" HI!!!!"
When I was leaving overheard there is 1left in the burgh, but that was circa 30mins ago.

The CPW contract bundle arrived today, loads more stuff than expected

For free on a 24mth £15.50 ( 20.50 with data ) contract was

Touchpad 16Gb
Pre 3 Phone
Touchpad Touchstone
Pre 3 Touchstone
Touchpad case
International travel adaptor
Car adaptor
Extra headphones

that makes my 4th TP :p

So it sounds like Leo Apotheker won't even have lasted in the position for a year - rumours going around that he will be fired very shortly!

One from Twitter:

"HP is *not* considering firing Leo Apotheker. They're just thinking about spinning him off as a separate company." :)

Misplaced American/Republican/Capitalist belief that to get the best people to run a company you need to offer the best possible package. The reality is you often just attract the greediest people.

:D

Serves the guy right, you don't plonk down $1.2 billion for a company and then shutter it a year later, either he's just flailing about with no idea what he's doing or he has the attention span of a goldfish.

hardly a simple as that, before this stunt no one was buying webOS, there was no market for the dev (app market) and his idea's seem to have worked.
They have accomplished more with the fire sale then had have happened with pumping the same amount of money into other options.
A $1.2Billion market is still a market to sell to, and a $1billion advertising campaign could not guarntee the same publicity or user base.

TBh I think he's pushed HP into a strange but strong position (even if he did not directly intend too).

I'm quite liking the idea of Meg Whitman as CEO of HP. When she left Ebay in 2008 it was #68 out of 100 for the best companies to work for. HP, IBM and Fujitsu didn't even make it onto the list. Maybe Meg will sort out HP's appalling relationship with it's employees*

There are two P's in happy but only one in HP.

Having said that we've just signed up to a 5% pay deal + £800 non consolidated payment :-)

You mean HP are actually giving you a rise? Man, you must have done great things!
