**HTC HD2 Thread**

Rom Version - 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWR
Rom Date - 10/26/09

Not noticed the camera issue, will have a try at it tomorrow. Been pleasantly suprised by the camera in all honesty, expected it to be total pap :D

Initial feedback seems really positive. Let's hope O2's delay in releasing it isn't because they are branding the hell out of it.

Such a great phone, *amazing* screen, good size, incredibly fast...

It's a shame there are so many bugs inherent in WM+Manila, some due to the lack of development from Microsoft, some due to HTC rushing to get the phone out the door.

I just hope they're listening to the reports and will fix the issues with some new rom releases. The guys over at the XDA dev forums are doing a cracking job at making unofficial patches and hacks, they need to be employed by MS/HTC!

Sounds like a good community. If I do make this my next phone, I might have to pay it a visit. By XDA devs do you mean they are the people behind branding O2 phones or just the same name?

XDA Developers is a community of developers and users of HTC devices. It's called XDA because the developers started producing things on a HTC phone called the XDA.

Well the You Tube app is of course still there.

All Social Networking apps are catered for. Twitter and Facebook are pre-loaded with Bebo available on the Marketplace for Free for those who require that.

I'm just getting around to typing in the phone numbers for everyone, the really boring process that it is. Phone is just so nice though, Vodafone is completely unbranded too and my HTC Touch Diamond looks so crappy next to it :)

A Microsoft My Phone App is on the device and I seriously suggest using it :) It really is a fantastic on the fly syncing device and is a great place to store all your numbers/images/texts etc!!! Liking the convenience of it so far. Also just discovered anything you delete on the backup you have the option to delete the items and this can take place at the next sync so it automatically deletes from your phone too if you want.

Also included in this suite is an option called "Find Your Lost Phone". I suspect it communicates with your phone and uses GPS or something to show you the location, pretty funny really.

The phone does indeed look lovely, I look at the HD2 and then look at my Touch Pro and I feel depressed. The Touch Pro and Touch Diamond has aged badly. :(

Still got 8 months left of my contract.
Altho I could buy out my contract, £10 a month line rental...:o

XDA devs is a great community. I've been a member since I got my X1. Some of the fixes and little apps they make are great. Like the 1% battery icon for the HD2. Works a treat, and it's nice and simple.

This phone is excellent, but with XDA support, it will become even better for sure!

Tried to install the Bebo app but it doesnt recognise the HTC HD2 resolution and thus doesnt finish the install :( Hopefully the app recieves an update.

Otherwise I'm getting along very well with my phone :)

whats it like watchin video on this phone?

does it play avi/divx or do you have to convert them first?

I'll try that out for you now Paul :)

XDA-Developers has loads of community made things.

As for watching videos, I advise using the free software PocketDivXEncoder.

I've been using it for the past 4 years to encode videos for phone viewing. :)
