**HTC HD2 Thread**

Sorry for what might be a really thick question but I was under the impression that orange didnt do this phone? I was on mobiles.co.uk and saw they had the HD2 on a 24 month contract, 900mins 500 text and unlimited data with 8months half price line rental. £35p/m works out at just under 30p/m over the term. Is this legit?

Changing the unlock function?

Hi, i flashed my phone a few times, and finally settled on the 2.07.531.6 ROM with manilla 2.5.20113626.0 and OS Ver 5.2.23529 but i have a problem with the customised unlock feature that it comes with. You see, they changed the standard slide to unlock with a rather annoying click to unlock located at bottom of the screen. This has lead to me constantly unlocking the device accidently while its in my pocket, running the battery down, making random calls and all sorts of stuff, even when its in its case because it can now be unlocked by the hardware buttons also! :(

Is there a way i can change it back to the standard unlock, where you have to physically slide your finger across the screen, and stop it from the hardware buttons unlocking the device also?

If not, is there a ROM what anyone can recommend for me please?

Cheers!

If you have a look through the themes/apps section on XDA you'll find a few different lock screen to try :)

Just stumbled upon s2u2 which has not only given me everything i asked for but also dealt with all the reconfiguring itself and sorted everything out. Now the only way to wake up the screen is by pressing one of the hardware buttons then doing the classic iphone slide to unlock move. Better than standard tbh because it was a pain having the slider at top of the screen, so now its even better than before :D

Cheers!

I found s2u2 too intrusive for what it does.

Just used this: http://www.kr00t0n.com/Kjam/wmmaniac.CustomLockscreen.cab

Moves the slider to the bottom of the screen. :)

I don't know if anyone here remembers the Remote P900 gadget for the Sony Ericsson P900 whereby you could remote desktop INTO the phone. Used to be a really handy little tool. Would love to know if there is something similar for the HD2.

she was on it at uni someone pushed pass and it hit the floor. I'm okay about it as it was a accidant. Anyway best way to get it sorted?

Borich
I was told that without phone insurance a new screen is £100 and im not sure where you go about getting the phone booked in, but i would guess go to the people you bought it off, guess they would send it away for repairs or something...

Decided to just go ahead an order the HD2 through virgin, been humming and hawing for ages over what phone to get. At least this way I get 28 days to have a play with it and see if its for me.

I'm just looking to draw on the experience of those who already own a hd2.

I've just purchased a HTC hd2 and was wondering if I should buy a screen protector for it.

I've seen the youtube clips of someone supposedly trying to scratch the phone earlier in this therad, is the screen really that scrtch resistant?

I got a cheap E-Cell screen protector off the Bay.

Anti-glare makes watching videos on the tube much easier, and my finger glides over the screen much more smoothly.

Less finger-prints too!

Thanks for the quick reply Krooton.

I'll have a look for one now, I'll resist temptation and leave the shipping screen protector in place for now as you can never seem to get the screen perfectly clean once you've removed that.

Anyone any ideas how this phone would perform as a business phone?
Im looking for a good Call quality, easy - push email, good text, web browser and calender to organise my appointments and day.

I use mine for business. I sync all my contacts/calendar from Outlook, googlemaps is linked to contact address so you can find them ;) and it's an excellent web browser on the train

It even makes good quality phone calls !!!!

*never used push mail so haven't a clue :D

hd2 and email?

Morning all.

I'm after a bit of advice regarding my new hd2. I've been using the BB Storm 1 & 2 over the last 18 months for all my email.
I have an exchange account with 1and1 and have it set up so all my other email accounts are forwarded to the exchange account and then pushed to the BB from there.

What would be the best way to receive emails on the hd2, push from the exchange account or pull from the POP accounts? as you can guess I'm a little confused :confused:
