**HTC HD2 Thread**

So how is it better than Windows' Operating system?

Android trounces it :) I loved my HD2 with Winmo (though only after installing custom Rom's and lots of tweaks) but since most of the major bugs with Android on the HD2 got fixed recently I have found myself rarely if ever booting back into Winmo.

I would switch permanently to Android but the battery life was terrible the last time is used it. I have to use push email for work and you can almost watch the battery drain away when enabled on the Android roms.

The last rom i tried was around 2 months ago - interested to hear peoples thoughts on if the battery situation has gotten any better, especially if you are using push email.

I don't use push email but the battery situation on the whole has certainly improved over the last couple of months. At the moment I am using 'MDJ FroYo Sense Revolution v.1.6', battery life is much better then previous Android builds I was runnning. The latest kernels are all optimised to get the most out of the battery, I am finding that I am now getting close to what I get in Winmo :)

Hi folks, I've had my HD2 for a few months now. Android 2.0 runs great but I'm not using it very much. Looking to sell it for some xmas shopping money.
Anyone had any experience of Mazuma Mobile or Envirophone? Don't want to ebay it due to issues with selling mobiles in the past

I used Mazuma to get rid of my old N95 which was very quick and straightforward. You will certainly get more for it on the bay, but if you don't want to go down that route then either of those sites should be fine - for a fairly expensive phone like the HD2 I would send it to them via registered post or courier.

Has anyone on Virgin Pay Monthly had their HD2 replaced under warranty recently, mine has finally got to the point where the random screen issues are no longer fun to live with. However they say they are out of stock and the guy on tech support didn't know if they are getting any more stock, so passed my details onto sales to ring me back and discuss a replacement phone, but they haven't got anything at all that I would choose.

So basically long story short has anyone had one replaced recently. Shame they don't carry the Desire HD :(

Not happy to hear that. I was looking to get my HD2 replaced on the insurance this week as it's been dropped a couple of times and not working great anymore.

What did they offer you as a replacement?

I went into the virgin shop the other day but the queue was ridiculously long. I didn't see many high end handsets at all.

Update on the replacement HD2, VM rang today and they 100% haven't got any HD2s left, HTC Wildfire was the nearest they could offer, or a Samsung Galaxy S which was not in stock so going to ring me back in a week. I feel these won't be available either so i'll be left with the choice of a considerably inferior phone :(

Oh god that's not what I want to hear. I asked them if they would be out of stock as I remembered your post, the guy in the shop said don't worry they keep large reserves for replacements.

I deffinately do not want a wildfire and also don't really want a galaxy S. The reason I bought the HD2 was due to the screensize.

If they can't offer me anything very similar is there any chance I would be able to cancel my contract? I would love the desire HD.

1) The Wildfire is vastly inferior phone, DO NOT ACCEPT THIS!!! :(

2) Hold out for the Galaxy.....

or....

3) Chance your arm for Windows 7 HTC Handset...they are an eerily similar spec after all ;)

whats the best way to get android 2.2 on this phone without loosing what I have on there - is there a way to dual boot 2.2 off a spare sd card?

Choose a build you like the look of and away you go. The forum is a bit daunting at first but once you have done a bit of reading it's great. May I reccomend one of the mdeejay builds.

All you do is download it to your memory card, go to file explorer, run clrclad then haret and it will boot.

A lot of people prefer to use light versions of windows 6.5 roms customised specially for android to get better performance but it's worth trying on yours first.

you are right, it is daunting, seems to be many builds on there, which one are you using?

I know I am asking a lot but is there any chance you could link the one think is best, plus the windows 6.5 customised rom? I am trying not to be lazy but am very new at this and there is so much I cant figure out which one is the best/most functional

I've downloaded

[UPD][BUILD][27.10.10]Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 2.3 rEVOlution [kernel:hastarin R7.7]

My HTC HD2 is stock, is there anything I need to do to it? its running

os 5.2.21913
