GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Followed the 'download youtube app' link. Downloaded it and then got the message that the installation was unsuccesful because it wasn't digitally signed with a trusted certificate!!!

I kinda figure it's my phone so it should be up to me whether it's installed?? Warn me sure, but I should be able to say install anyway!! Shouldn't I?

Why don't you just stick an official HTC ROM on it (from the HTC website), it won't void your warranty and the youtube app will be on it (although it may be t-mobile banning streaming over 3g from the sounds of your IE experience). It's really easy to do too and it's easy to copy all your personal data over to the new rom.

It's amazing how much difference a few reg tweaks can do :D

Much prefer the one that adds a "send" icon to HTC messaging, and changes the "Send" softkey to Back :D

Also changed the icon grid to 4x4... makes 3x3 look like such a waste of space :o

Haven't noticed any problems with texting yet *touch wood*

This is a family forum dude :D

Not sure what I'm missing but I can't for the life of me see how to edit the registry... I've installed Resco explorer and the registry plugin but can't see anything related to the registry editor??

Does it matter where resco explorer is installed?

It should appear as a separate program alongside all the other applications. Shouldn't matter where you install it (I installed it to SD card and it worked fine).

Wish they'd hurry up with the next (touch-friendlier) version :D

Oh well - an uninstall and reinstall helped..

Now, whats the best video format to use with this phone and is there a simple app to do the conversion .....

Not been bothering to convert my vids, just copying them straight to the phone and they are playing fine in Coreplayer.

Bought my HD2 from MPD earlier this week, retail unbranded phone with a T-Mobile sim. They actually dropped the price of the phone on the tariff I wanted a day before I ordered, bonus! Very happy with it, nothing really to add to what has already been said - great piece of hardware with a fantastic screen just let down by some minor niggles and winmo annoyances.

Many thanks to Russ and everyone else for posting their experiences/tweaks/recommendations throughout this thread, great source of info which saved me lots of time.

I do think that HTC need to get stock out there though - I popped into a few stores including the Carphone Warehouse in Westfield (Londons newest flagship shopping centre) and the managers all said they had no ETA whatsoever on the HD2 and that loads of people were asking about them - seems silly that they are not available for people to buy in the run up to Christmas...

lol, this phone officially hates me!!! Now the time's all screwy!!

I'm just outside London, so obviously in GMT. But the phone is showing me as 'GMT +1 Berlin, Rome'.

I can change the time so that it's correct, but then it shows London as an hour behind what the phone displays.
The actual bit that says I'm GMT + 1 is greyed out so I can't change it to GMT.
The phone knows where I am because the weather is correct and it's telling me i'm in the town that I'm in.....

Why?? Why does this phone hate me?? WHY????

P.S. It was set to GMT previously and worked fine for about a day. Then I took it out of my pocket and noticed it was an hour fast...??

spoke to 4 different O2 stores, 2 of which in central london and they all said no hope of stock,
phoned o2 and 18 hours later it was on my desk at work.

I'm sure HTC are having issues with stocks but perhaps some of the phone companies are being poor with distribution as well?

When you press the main clock on the home screen you should go to a setting where you can choose your location (or at least on other custom roms). Make sure it's set to London.

Yeah, that option is there, but it's greyed out?!?!?!

You tap the clock, then go to 'my location' and in there I can change the time, below that I can change the date, and below that the 'City' tab is shown at GMT + 1 but is greyed out so I can't change it :(!!!

Mine's developed a bit of a quirk. When veiwing sms's, there's a message saying tap here to reply... mines stopped responding to a tap. The area is sensitive to scrolling etc. just not a tap. Any ideas?

** Sorted, well not sorted but it's the issue Russ mentioned a while back, allthe conversation have to load first.. **
