**HTC HD2 Thread**

Thanks. Another quick Q. I transferred my sim contacts onto the phone so there is know nothing on the sim. Will these need to be transferred back in order to not lose all my numbers?

Will be updating to the newest official when I can borrow a mates sim card in order to unlock my O2 handset, looking forward to a decent speed boost hopefully.

Loving the new cooked ROMs which include the latest radio (2.06.50.4) which enables an extra 128MB of RAM, bringing it up from 448 to 576MB :D

Sweet!

(Dutty's 1.4 WWE has this)

I think flashing to a custom ROM will be a job for this evening!

A bit miffed that Vodafone aren't supplying the updated ROMs yet.

Will look at flashing mine this weekend. A question... is there an original Vodafone ROM available incase the phone develops a fault and I have to restore the original?

Is flashing still a case of:

1) backup data, contacts etc
2) Hardspl or somesuch
3) flash new rom
4) voila!

Forgive any ignorance last time I did this was a few years ago. :)

Yep!

However, if you want to flash to another cooked rom after that, you need to flash back to a stock rom, as flashing cooked on cooked multiple times starts to cause bugs. Flashing to a stock rom will clear everything properly.

Whats music player like on this? Good quality? Can you control the player whilst in other apps/home screen?

I use a standalone app called Coreplayer for music/video. Music can be played, then return to the homescreen and it will play in the background until you return to Coreplayer to stop it.

Oh, so there's no kind of play/pause quick controls like on the iPhone?

I know it's a picky question, it's just that I love my iPhone for the fact that it's an iPod aswell. OK iPods aren't brilliant, but at least it's better than most mobile phone based mp3 players...

No, there isn't, but then I just have to make one press to bring Coreplayer to the foreground and all the controls are there.

If you play music through the Sense player, and leave it on that tab, it might work sort of how you'd like, but I don't use that tab.

You can use the iphone earphones and use the button to pause and play tracks on the HD2, unfortunately the skip and repeat doesnt work. Would love it if there was a proper remote to control music playback for the HD2 though.

Hi, I'd like an answer to this too...
Chris

Why wait for network-branded (albeit it slightly) ROMs?

Just HardSPL your phone and then put on whatever ROM you like!

If you're worried about warranty etc, you can always re-flash the original ROM back on (assuming you can find the stock one that came with your phone) et voilà - no more waiting for the networks to provide their own out-of-date butchered ROMs :D
