**HTC HD2 Thread**

Looking to get one of these on O2. Whats a good deal these days for one ?

Will want a 18 month contract as cheap as possible with a decent amount of minutes and texts ?

Cheers guys ;)

I got mine in November last year (so not long after the phone came out).

Mine's 900 minutes, unlimited landlines, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and free phone for £40pm for 18months. Also got £90 cashback through Quidco so it's an equivalent of £35pm.

Hope that helps/gives some idea.

got the hd2 and enjoying it so far but am waiting for an unlock code to arrive so i can use it fully. i bought core player and installed it fine but any video i play comes out as green mush and causes it to crash which is driving me nuts! i fan see the potential 4 this mobby but i just need to sort out the teething problems first. i installed swype also but have no idea how to activate it since im sure im using the default keyboard. the screen is absolutely beautiful and its hard not to love it!

**EDIT**

Sorted out the Core Player problem - turns out it was a matter of changing the video playback settings (D'Oh!) and oh my gosh how sweet is the playback of divx on that screen!!?!?!?

got my hd2 now and im not sure about it.

it's bigger and heavier than i imagined.

love the camera on it though, very good quality for a camera phone.

just one problem though, when i disconnect the internet and lock the phone the internet come's back on for some strange reason ?

any idea's on this please ?

what are some good apps to download free from the market place ?

it's going to take a while to get used to it and ive got 2 weeks to decide if i want to keep it or not.

has anyone got some good reason's as to keep this phone ?

That's an odd question. Any reasons not to keep this phone?

as i said it is really big and heavy.

i just though mobile phone's was something you keep in your pocket and used it when you need to.

so it needs to be smaller and lighter ?

maybe its just me because this is the first touch phone ive had.

Why did you not research the size? Why did you not look at one in the shop? Why did you buy a HD2 if you want something that stays in your pocket?

the o2 shop only had the hero instore.

and i got it free with my upgrade package.

i wanted more out of a phone than my blackberry and lke to surf the net now and again while im at work.

to which the hd2 does very well.

the question im really asking is this..2is there a phone which is smaller, lighter and does what the hd2 does"

i installed swype also but have no idea how to activate it since im sure im using the default keyboard.

Either press the arrow next to the keyboard symbol at the bottom (when typing) to select Swype, or if you want to set it as your default keyboard (which I'd recommend) download and install SIPChange: this is mirrored on my site at www.rghjones.co.uk/htc.

No.

You'd have to wait a month or two for the HTC HD Mini to be released. If the name doesn't give it away... it is a smaller screen version of the HD2.

47g lighter
1.1" smaller screen
320x480 (iPhone) res vs 800x480
200MB less RAM
400mhz slower cpu

Erm, yuck!!

I should have actually read the full articles rather than the headlines... it's a pretty much pointless phone if it's not going to match or come close to the spec of the HD2. There are already plenty of phones that do approx 500-600mhz processors and HVGA screens.

It actually kind of does live up to it's name when compared to the HD.

They need to make a HD2 Mini!

What was the name of the app that was the music player similar to that of the iphone that was on the stock ROMs? I liked the similarity of swiping across the screen to go thru the album library. Since updating to the Dutty ROM it no longer is there and am hoping that it can be put back on - anyone?

I'm still not 100% taken with swype yet - the standard predictive text appears to be working pretty well so far.

I've got the Touch Diamond 2, an excellent phone but the screen was a bit too small for my old eyes :(

So I bought the HD2 which is lurvly :D

I don't know whether to keep the TD2 as a spare *pocket* phone or flog it :o

i have the Touch HD, which i love and the screen on the HD2 is very nice and a bit bigger
unless theres a HD3 out when i decide to upgrade again i think i know what im going to get
i havent even had my Touch HD for a Year yet :)
