***HTC Magic Thread***

I had a go on a Magic in-store... it seemed laggy when i swiped between the main screens.... :O

I don't think there was much running... so hopefully it was just "used and abused".. but has anyone noticed this on their phones?

The Vodafone staff probably installed a whole load of applications from the Market Place.

That was the case when I went in store and had a go on one.

Go knows how many background tasks were running, but thats whats probably lagging the phone you had a go on.

On a similar note, boo to the developer of Advanced Task Manager. Was free but now you have to pay. Went to use mine and it told me it had expired and need to pay.

Alternative is Taskiller. Seems to do the job.

Yeah I was a bit surprised too but tbh the update has some new features and it costs less than 99p so all is good :p

Taskiller was way too basic for me.

Peculiar moment there!

My sister wants a new phone so I am trying to convince her to get an Android so was showing the voice search feature today and on the first try it completely searched the wrong word and brought up results for "sex"

She was not impressed

i didn't think they included voice search outside of the USA because it only really understood american accents, when i had the American rom on my g1 voice search was there and it regularly got things wrong.

I couldn't get it to search for porn... :(

I got a clear skin off the bay (HTC Magic G2 FULL BODY Screen Protector Shield Guard) which fits quite well, only slight issue is that the screen feels slightly less responsive now, when texting I find it doesn't always respond to keypresses on the edge of the screen.

Anyone else experiance battery problems?

Some days it's fine, other days it's useless, but today has been some what weird. I haven't used the phone at all today, apart from sending two text messages. I did a full charge last night and from 8am this morning up until now, the battery has gone from 100 to 39 and it's slowly going down by 1 every 5 mins or so now.

Turn it off then on again. Mine had 13% left during midday after a night's charge, rebooted and it was back up to 31% whihc was normal as I'd used it that morning and got poor signal at work so it was working hard.

Yeah, Bloo is looking like a great App and despite the face I rarely go on Facebook, I used to like the integration it offered when I had it installed on my Blackberry (i.e it would add events and Birthdays to calendar automatically as well as keep peoples contact pictures up to date without you having to do anything).

I hope that at some stage an Andriod app offers this sort of functionality. I know there is one on the App Store at the minute but it won't allow you to manually link the person in your contact book (i.e Mum) with the persons Facebook profile.

Only thing lacking this in an otherwise awesome phone / OS...
