HTC Vive

Been trying out lots of stuff but for me so far the best I've bought and kept are:

Space Pirate Trainer - A bit limited in content but great fun
Project cars - I love it but the Mrs got motion sick. To be fair though I feel the same when she drives!
Final approach - Only just tried it tonight and it seems very good.
Brookhaven Demo - Love it and cant wait for the full version
The Blu - It's limited but just for showing off to mates it's what I always start with. The Abyss is very good if you have brave friends.
FSX SE with Flyinside - Only tried the 15 minute demo but it is very good if you are into FS. Makes flying so much easier once you get the assignments sorted out so you can stay under the hood. Bit pricey for the full version though.

Tried but returned via the steam refund:

Hover Junkers - Just couldn't get into it despite the good reviews
Apollo 11 - Great experience.....Once but that's kind of it. Tried interactive mode but found a few bugs which spoiled the experience

I have just placed my Vive order with OcUK and it will be here on Tuesday. With the steam sales on at the moment, I was hoping to pick a few games up.
Can somebody recommend me some please? I would like some that are quite easy going so that I can get my mum on it. She is disabled so it would need to be a seated experience and something that's not too manic for her :) As for me, I'm up for anything, so feel free to make any suggestions.

Thanks :)

I ordered mine the same time with the same delivery date of today so just wondering if your order status has changed? I'm a bit worried it won't come as today is my only day off this week.

Have you checked email, I would expect DPD to have sent you delivery time by now.

For games - What has been said also Vanishing Realms is a good little adventure, fighting skeletons same size as you.

I like Windlands although only just finished the first level, still use the cage ball and do not suffer motion sickness with it even at full speed ahead. Cloudlands mini golf is nice and relaxing.

My brother has Hordze ?? which he enjoys.

I have run my P Cars and Elite Dangerous which are ok on low currently.

I am surprised that the games etc work fine on my EVGA GTX 770 SC, while waiting for new System with Strix 1080.

Not tried WarThunder yet although I have got it, I play Fishing Planet and that supposed to get its VR implementation back end of the month.

No still nothing :(

Just phoned. Apparently they're out of stock which is a shame because there were still plenty when I ordered. ETA 2-3 weeks. Ah well. :(

Biggest kick in the teeth is I sold my DK2 and Hydras yesterday so help pay for it. Now I have to 2D game like a peasant :P

Same for me. Ordered this week end while 7 left in stock. (Down to 6 after I ordered) no news until I've had to call OC this morning to enquire the lack of shipping/tracking email. Nice chap on the phone who mentioned they were out of stock. Took a day off to be home for nothing. No impressed by the communication to be honest...
A notification email yesterday would have gone a long way.. :(

Yeah I'm glad I eventually phoned. Delivery services always have trouble finding my place so I'd dedicated my day to sitting by the window and refreshing my emails from 8am!

Sorry to hear you are having troubles. Mine arrived today as estimated. Strange because the stock levels are live as far as I know and adjust as they are sold.

Must have sold a few then as they had delivery of 500 on the 8th .

Was it just the Vive you ordered or was it with a GTX 1080 they have not got.

Bit of a downer either way.

Wow... I'm absolutely blown away by the HTC Vive... Incredible... Came today with my MSI Gaming X 1080... Just about enough space in my home office.

My son loves it and my wife was also very impressed.

So i've had some time with my HTC Vive...

  • Tilt Brush - Amazing. Move drawing in 3D, it feels so natural
  • Brookhaven Experiment - Terrifying at first, just such a satisfying game when you shot the monsters in the head up close.
  • TheBlu - Fantastic. Wife loved this, cracking demo for friends and family.
  • Elite Dangerous - Ok, not really got into this yet. Feel this will be one ill sit down and play when i have more time.
  • Space Pirate Trainer - Great fun but currently i prefer Brookhaven.
  • Audioshield - This is such an awesome idea but partly ruined by the lack of music tuned to the way it works. I want to defend in time to the music, as you naturally feel like dancing to it.

I've still got The Lab, Budget Cuts and Job Simulator left to try.

Speaking of the games that came with the order - I still haven't received my email with the codes and I didn't get anything in the box either regarding it. I have contacted support several days ago yet still haven't heard anything back. If anyone is on staff can you check into it for me please.

From what I gather, htc send you the codes when you register the vive.

I couldn't redeem mine as when I threw back the conformation mail, it seems to have not bounced back. Attempts to reset the pass to my mail address get lost in a loop.

Wouldn't mind a go on job sim, but I'm not paying £22 for it.

My Promotional content code came direct from Overclockers the same time as the dispatch notice email saying it was shipping.

I gather you have checked spam folder??.

Ok, so, i've not read the entire thread (obvs), but i'd like ot know:
1. Whats the mimum space you can get away with to use the Vive effectively?
2. If you don't have the space is Occulus the way to go?
3. For those who have used both what's your preference and why?
4. Anyone experience any headaches, nausea etc? I know the 90hz refresh in each eye should all but eliminate that. I had a dem on the Rift DK2 (i believe) and it made me feel sick and all i did was wander around a hotel room.

Thanks
