HTC Vive

This forum is dead. I expected more.

Any big vive forums I'm missing that has the world on it?

As mentioned reddit has a few subreddits that are busier than here. But I'm guessing this place seems dead as there just aren't enough that have them. Hopefully will pick up a bit more when more do.

We could probably benefit from seperate threads for the individual games/software. Not sure if that would be a bit of a takeover to have so many?

Yes, agreed. Could probably start doing with threads for individual games etc, make it more like the PC and Console gaming sub forums.

I'm up for supplying some input for that, anyone know how we create a branch for VR games? I can imagine users being annoyed if 15 threads pop up all to do with VR!

Man, Out of Ammo is a really fun game, the micromanagement of your troops while maintaining 360 degree situational awareness gets hectic! :)

On an aside, I think I will definitely upgrade from a 970 to 1070 when it comes out, I think I just need a little bit more grunt to up the graphics quality in some titles... Hopefully I will win the lottery before the 1080Ti comes out and then I can grab that too haha.

Eh? We're in a VR sub forum, what do they expect. :p

I don't see any reason why it can't be like the other sub forums where there is a thread for each game etc.

So I am starting to seem missed frames in some of my games, as looking at things it seems my CPU is maxing out at 100% which may be the culprit.

I'm not sure whether this is a new issue or not, but looking at task manager, it seems that Windows Defender is taking up a fair bit of that CPU % (maybe 20% or so.. it jumps around a bit). Anyone else had this issue occur?

I will probably disable windows defender temporarily and see how things go, but don't like running windows without any protection what so ever.....

Is it trying to scan or something? Can't say I ever notice Windows Defender unless I tell it to do something.

It's really odd, it seemed to be only kicking in once I started up a certain game (The Gallery).

I've completely turned off everything non-essential, and I think it's better for me now.

I do feel though that even with my 4690k at 4.5Ghz.. there isn't THAT much CPU headroom. For instance, all I was playing was the minigolf game and I had a bunch of monitoring software open, and the SteamVR frame timing monitor itself seemed to be giving me missed frames... closing it stopped the issues.

Yes we need threads for the games/software. Some of it is excellent but some of it is awful and broken. I've stopped buying until something gets three sold recommendations. Some of the VR stuff on Steam is absolute rubbish!

+1 I have refunded so many VR games that steam are getting arsy

Been playing Waltz of the Wizard this eve. Again it's little more than a demo, but it's really good and at least a couple of hours of entertainment. For free you can't grumble, especially given the polish it has etc.

Pool VR is out today isn't it?

Anyone tried Lightblade VR? Looks like SPT but with lighsabres, sorry, lazer swords :o

Played WotW last night, fun and well made but again I doubt it's something I will touch more than once.
