***Hudl2***

After fully charging the Hudl 2, I gave it a lazy Sunday test. I surfed the web for a couple of hours, played Clash of Clans for ten minutes, watched two movies, and then the kids watched an episode of Spongebob. By the end of that it was dropping down to the 10 percent mark. Not too impressive.

Seems the screen is a huge drain on it though which is no surprise considering how good it is, i imagine turning it down would help a lot.

Heh i wouldn't know, all i have to compare it to is the 2012 Nexus 7 but it does seem he used it a fair bit more than i would, i tend to just use the web and the odd use of the XBMC app to browse folders and start things playing on the TV. I won't get my HUDL2 until tomorrow when Tesco convert points to vouchers and i'll be able to compare properly then.

End of quarter is today, but I think it will be a few weeks if you are waiting for these points before they generate the November statement.

Bah, I've never actively checked my points until now so just made an assumption when i saw the 16th October date on the site :( I'm not in a rush though so will just wait until they do transfer.

Points will be available on-line before the statement arrives in the post.

Probably in around a week to ten days based on previous times.

I'll keep an eye out. Only reason i was looking this time was the 1500 free points from the £60 shop and was already thinking about a new tablet. Usually i just use the vouchers that come through the door every so often :)

If u look up Hudl 2 at Tesco store there is kitkat 4.4.4 on demo show. But the box u purchase is 4.4.2 and OS updating is locked.

Weird that you say that. I bought mine yesterday and as soon as I turned it on I got a prompt regarding a 112mb OS update which I downloaded and installed straight away, no idea what it updated though.

just took a punt on this for the sake of a few quid, iSyncr works really well even with the latest iTunes (12.0.1.26).

I popped into the local Tesco at lunchtime to grab a sandwich and noticed they had an end of isle display with a couple of Hudl 2's. Had a quick play and unfortunately came away disappointed.
The display looked fantastic and build quality looked good, but performance looked shocking. They were running some slide show demo software, but you could dismiss it with the "try it now" button and instantly it looked poor. Dismissing the demo software to go to the home screen was a jerky, laggy transition and once there just swiping between the home screens was just as laggy.
It may be the demo software being poorly implemented causing issues, but as a quick experience of a new tablet it was not a good first impression.

This was in the Coventry Cross-Point superstore, but I would guess all big Tesco's will have displays up now.

I tried one myself other week and the same thing it was so jerky it was shocking.

In case anyone is about to buy one of these there's a code that gives 1500 clubcard vouchers when you spend £60 on shopping online, so with boost that gives you £30 off the hudl + whatever other vouchers you already have. So even if you don't already have points that's £30 off making the Hudl2 £99. New accounts or first order on an account only but you can just create a new one with a different email if need be. Today's the last date to add it as the points are converted to vouchers tomorrow, do shopping today... buy HUDL tomorrow for cheap.

Code : XXGKLX

When creating new account, can you use same address? and what to do when it asks for club card number? same or say haven't got one?

thx
