I picked one up a couple of days ago.
For the money, it's a cracking device. Screen is fantastic and speakers are great. People commented on it feeling sluggish and that the Tesco launcher was to blame. First thing I did was stick the Google launcher on there and I've not noticed any poor performance. I disabled the bundled Tesco apps (only My Tesco remains) and you virtually have stock Android. Can't comment on the camera as I have zero need for it.
There is a downside. Battery life.
I can achieve approx 6 hours of screen time, which isn't that great in my opinion. The tablet never leaves the house so I'm OK with that. For the price you pay, there has to be a sacrifice somewhere.
From what I've read, the Intel Atom Bay Trail SOC is not a massive power hungry beast. The battery has been confirmed as a 5710mAh unit. The Hudl 2 uses an x86 chip rather than ARM and an Intel-optimized build of Kit Kat, so its not going to be as optimized as the main version for ARM systems.
Android Lollipop should hopefully bring proper support for multiple architectures, including support for 64-bit x86 chips like those found in the Hudl 2. Whether Tesco have any plans to provide an upgrade to Lollipop is an unknown..
